20/07/2026: This review concerns only the restaurant portion: We were expecting to discover an Auvergne restaurant offering tasty, generous, and authentic local specialties. Unfortunately, we left very disappointed… and still hungry. We chose the truffade, a regional classic. Unfortunately, there was more salad than truffade on our plate. The portion was very small. As for the truffade itself, if you consider it simply potatoes with a little cheese, the taste was acceptable. But for us, it's hard to call it a true truffade: the potatoes completely separated from the cheese, lacking the rich, stringy texture one expects from this dish. The result was clearly lacking in richness and flavor. The positive point of the dish: the cured ham, which was very good and served in a reasonable quantity. The same disappointment awaited us with the blueberry tart for dessert. We were expecting a generous tart like the ones you usually find in the region, with a crust thick enough to provide texture and a touch of indulgence. Here, the blueberries were placed on an extremely thin puff pastry base with a dry crust. When I tasted it, I felt like I was eating nothing but blueberries, the pastry was practically nonexistent. Fortunately, the accompaniments somewhat redeemed the dessert: the scoop of ice cream was very good, as was the small financier served with it. The whipped cream, however, seemed to be the kind you'd find at a supermarket. Another positive point: the terrace offers a beautiful view and the setting is pleasant. ⚠️ Also worth noting: the menu displayed on the website doesn't necessarily match the one offered on-site on Sunday evenings and Mondays. The menu is much more limited on those days. If you've spotted a particular dish on the website, it's best to check before you come. We ultimately left very disappointed and, above all, still hungry. It's quite rare, in a region where Auvergne cuisine is renowned for its generous and flavorful portions, to leave a restaurant serving local specialties with such a distinct impression of small portions and dishes lacking such depth of flavor. It's a shame, because the setting and the quality of some of the side dishes led one to expect a completely different experience.

02/07/2026: A pleasant hotel where everything is geared towards hikers. The welcome was friendly and smiling. We took off our shoes and went up to the clean, minimalist rooms, which, for us, had a superb view of the fields and the Puy Mary. Breakfast was served too late and was very basic. Not the best we had. In the evening, we ate at the restaurant on the back terrace overlooking the mountains. Nice! The food wasn't particularly fancy: the fruit salad was a disaster, and for dessert, it was canned pineapple—spongy as could be. Value for money: it's still expensive... but that's generally the case in this region, although all the hotels charge similar prices.
