01/06/2026: Outing on July 14, 2023, with my little nephews who are addicted to Paddy's burgers.
Great afternoon and evening followed by the fireworks. Everyone was very satisfied, always so warmly welcomed, burgers always delicious, in a fantastic setting and atmosphere.
Very good pub, with a great atmosphere, Irish-style decor, a library corner available to everyone, and a large selection of very good quality beers. You can also grab a bite (St. Félicien cheese platter, chorizo, pâté).
The staff is friendly and helpful, and gives good advice if you're unsure about which beer to choose. A friendly place, reasonable prices, but it can get crowded quickly, especially the interior which is quite small. They organize evenings, concerts, and broadcast sporting events.
One of the best pubs in Croix-Rousse.
🤤 Delicious burgers arrived, along with a platter of fries, a three-cheese platter, and various charcuterie. My favorite pub.
Still a must-visit, this pub in Lyon and Croix-Rousse is my favorite. Impeccable service, always smiling waiters/waitresses, burgers, tapenade, and nachos are top-notch. Never disappointed since discovering it in 2014. And the beer selection...🤤
29/05/2026: The staff took it upon themselves to ask my sister to leave the premises under the pretext that she had her baby in a stroller; I find that rather absurd.

30/05/2026: We had a wonderful time at this restaurant. The atmosphere was intimate, and the staff were incredibly kind and welcoming. What's more, the food was absolutely delicious: fresh, flavorful, and generous portions. All this for a very reasonable price.
I highly recommend this place!
30/04/2026: Frankly, the restaurant doesn't look like much with its faded, old-fashioned facade... but honestly, the food is very good, the service is pleasant with a touch of humor, everything is generous and tasty, quite a lot of choice for a very good price, it's a family-run place, like home, simple, efficient, no frills.

The service is super professional and they're very kind; even if there's a small mistake with the order, they correct it very quickly. Absolutely nothing to complain about, it's a solid 5/5.

03/04/2026: A very nice Chinese restaurant with friendly and welcoming staff. The only slight drawback: when ordering Thai rice, I was surprised twice. First, the rice, although colorful, was bland, and second, it was cold. However, the appetizer was delicious; the chicken in spicy sauce was excellent!

09/05/2026: A real gem that doesn't look like much at first glance, but what a pleasant surprise! Delicious food, top-quality ingredients, and a warm, family atmosphere. The spring rolls were delicate and crispy, and the beef on the hot plate was absolutely excellent: incredibly tender and full of flavor.
The staff is also very friendly and welcoming, which makes the experience even better.
And the cherry on top: the little hot towels at the end of the meal, just like in Chinese restaurants from the 80s… a detail that's become rare these days and adds a truly nostalgic and authentic touch. We highly recommend this place!

05/05/2026: The welcome was nonexistent; it was as if a simple hello or good evening was too much to ask. The staff practically stared at us.
The food was awful, everything was dry... impossible for it to have been made that day... it was reheated food... fresh ingredients? Absolutely not. I strongly advise against going there. A goodbye? Come on, that's asking too much.

You call this beef stir-fried noodles?
Bland, instant soup noodles. Dry, bleached pieces of beef, tasteless, without sauce, without flavor, like they'd been boiled in plain water. When I asked the waitress, "Excuse me, there's no sauce?" she replied, "You can make your own soy sauce. We don't use it, it dries out the meat..." I mean, seriously?
Chicken stir-fried noodles?
The same thing, only worse. The chicken was tiny pieces of dry, white, tasteless chicken breast.
I was so shocked I didn't even know how to tell the manager, who is otherwise a kind and welcoming person.
It's shameful and shocking for the price you charge. I've never had an experience like this.
I suggest you review your recipes and your chef. I make food 10 times better at home.
I don't understand it; this restaurant has been around for 20 years, and I've enjoyed it in the past, but this is just not possible.

22/11/2025: A delivery went wrong, but… 15 days later, this restaurant spontaneously and thoughtfully delivered the missing dish.

A few days later, I had the chance to have lunch there: a very warm welcome, parking right across the street, and delicious spring rolls made fresh on the spot.
I look forward to returning.

21/05/2026: I've been to Royal Bambou several times with my husband and friends, and we've had three very negative experiences.
The customer service is truly awful.
The first time, we were with friends, and they made it very unpleasant to tell us it was time to leave.
Then, the second time, with my husband, around 1 p.m., a woman complained that we were seated at a table meant for four… even though it was one of their employees who had seated us.
And another time, my husband found an expired yogurt! So, a word of advice: avoid this place, because judging by the previous reviews, it doesn't seem to be an isolated incident, unfortunately.
Luckily, the restaurant across the street has reopened!

18/02/2026: The waitress was bitter; she was forced to work because of her lack of politeness. The noodles tasted like dirt, and you had to ask her to heat the food up. Otherwise, the shrimp was good, but the price was exorbitant for the very small portion served.
17/02/2026: The imperial pasta and samosas are wonderful, perfectly cooked and seasoned; the chef is fantastic!!! And the staff are so friendly too!! As long as it stays this way, I'll be back twice a week. Thank you!

17/04/2026: For almost 5-6 years, I've been ordering around €30 every month from this restaurant. For me, it was the best sushi restaurant in the area in terms of taste, portion sizes, etc.
But since the change of ownership, it's become disgusting! All the sushi is smaller, the rice is sticky, the fish is barely fresh...
The sweet sauce is disgusting too.
Run away!
