18/08/2023: My partner and I discovered this pleasant terrace in the heart of a very cute little Bourbonnais village in July🌞. The setting is charming, the restaurant is beautiful and the conviviality is there. We decided to have lunch there with a menu for 15€ (starter-main course-cheese-dessert-wine). Although the price was attractive, we were still disappointed with the service. The starter consisting of rillettes was simple (no worries there) but the main course was served in (too) small proportions. Above all, the vegetables were frozen, the meat quite dry. It's very sad when you know a little about this region and its markets, where there is no shortage of fresh, local and good products! The cheese plate was, however, very generous (the strong point of this menu) but the dessert was, in all likelihood, industrial. What a pity !! We understand the logic of a low price, accessible to all. We obviously don't expect gastronomy for this. However, working with fresh products from local farms does not seem to be an insurmountable challenge (?). Just by cooking a pan of fresh vegetables and offering a homemade dessert (even a simple one), it would immediately and easily improve in quality!! In the old country bistros, you eat cheap and good. We would definitely prefer to pay a little more per person, and eat a little more quality. A formula around traditional, family dishes could be welcome. Or even theme evenings? Or discovering a comforting Bourbonnais dish, like potato pie with a small salad, would be something memorable in such a pretty setting (while maintaining an affordable pricing policy). There are therefore two major strengths of this small restaurant: the service (very good, the lady who received us was smiling and pleasant) as well as the setting. In a word, there is GREAT POTENTIAL. We will perhaps come back another time, to see if it has evolved and that would be great because there is enough to make it a very good little restaurant without great effort. Yours truly.
