Les Templiers

Yvignac-La-Tour
06/02/2026: The restaurant "Les Templiers" in Yvignac-la-Tour is the perfect culinary complement to a visit to the historic church. Located right in the heart of the village, it reflects the medieval history of Yvignac not only in its name but also in its ambiance. Ambiance and Style The restaurant is housed in a characteristic Breton stone building that blends beautifully with the historic flair of Yvignac. Rustic Charm: Inside, dark wood, natural stone walls, and a cozy, almost village-like atmosphere often dominate. Historical Connection: The name is a direct homage to the Templar past of the area. It's a popular meeting place for locals and tourists who have just visited the Église Saint-Malo. Culinary Offerings "Les Templiers" is known for its honest, traditional French cuisine with a regional focus. Regional Products Highly Recommended The kitchen at "Les Templiers" operates strictly on seasonal ingredients. The restaurant's menu is shaped by its proximity to both the fertile hinterland and the Emerald Coast (Côte d’Émeraude): Seafood & Fish: With the Bay of Saint-Malo and the port of Erquy just a stone's throw away, fresh scallops (Coquilles Saint-Jacques) – the region's prized fish – or freshly caught sea bass often grace the grill. Brittany Meat: The restaurant frequently sources its meat from local farmers. Particularly popular are the Cochon de Bretagne (Breton pig) and Limousin beef from local farmers. Seasonal Vegetables: Side dishes often come from the fields surrounding Dinan. In spring, the famous Breton artichoke or asparagus take center stage, while in autumn, root vegetables and mushrooms from the nearby forests are featured. Set Lunch Menus: As is common in France, the restaurant often offers affordable set lunch menus, which are very popular. Specialties: You'll often find classic regional dishes here, such as: Fresh fish dishes (since the coast is nearby). Meat dishes with rich sauces. Homemade desserts like Tarte Tatin or creations with salted butter caramel. Atmosphere: It's less of a "fine dining" establishment and more of an upscale brasserie or auberge – welcoming, relaxed, and high-quality. Why it's worth a visit: After experiencing the mystical and rather cool atmosphere of the Romanesque church, the restaurant offers the perfect contrast: Location: You can leave your car; the restaurant is usually within easy sight of the church. Authenticity: Here you'll experience the real "La France profonde" (Lower France). It's not an overcrowded tourist spot, but a slice of authentic Brittany. The terrace: In the warmer months, the restaurant often offers outdoor seating where you can enjoy the view of the historic buildings. Note: Since Yvignac is a small town, it's advisable to call ahead and make a reservation, as the restaurant is very popular with locals. I'll gladly come again. Seneschal Meinolf
16/12/2025: A great value, affordable workers' restaurant. Several main courses to choose from, a starter buffet, and a wide selection of desserts. The staff are excellent: friendly, responsive, and efficient. Takeaway available, and parking behind the restaurant if needed. We encourage you all to keep up the good work in the future.
