Chamesol
01/02/2026: One of the best gourmet restaurants around Montbéliard. We tried it midweek in the evening, and the two-course menu delighted us. The dishes were beautifully presented and delicious. When ordering, be aware that you'll also receive a small dessert to enjoy while you wait for your main course.
25/01/2026: If you appreciate fine cuisine, you'll undoubtedly love this establishment. It's hard to find anything more refined in the Doubs region. The ingredients are largely local, prepared with care, and you can truly sense the living essence of the food. As for the ambiance, the restaurant is beautiful: elegant without being pretentious, and impeccably maintained. The young, tattooed waitress is extremely warm and patient, a real asset to the quality of service. She is attentive to feedback and adapts very carefully to the needs of elderly and/or disabled guests. If I stopped there, the restaurant would be nearly flawless, especially in such a remote location, and I have no doubt it continues to thrive thanks to its loyal clientele. However, I hope that the following comment will be perceived not as an attack, but as the expression of a discomfort felt by everyone at my table—a discomfort that seems to be shared by other customers, judging by the reviews and critiques over the past six years. I am accustomed to this type of establishment and service. This time, I chose to bring some older people, some of whom have difficulties, as mentioned earlier. Unfortunately, we experienced a real lack of respect from the head waitress (who, if I understood correctly, is the chef's wife). Perhaps my companions were not considered "distinguished" enough, or perhaps impatience led to a curt and abrupt tone. In any case, when they asked simple questions about the ingredients before ordering, they received haughty, almost snobbish, responses. When an iodine allergy was mentioned, the amuse-bouche wasn't changed; the response was simply that they could avoid the ingredient in the dish. In general, the atmosphere surrounding this person was unsettling, to the point that the older guests at the table no longer dared to ask any questions. Perhaps they didn't fit certain social norms or belong to a clientele considered more "bourgeois," but this in no way justifies such treatment. It's possible that this restaurant caters primarily to connoisseurs. Personally, I had no direct problems with this individual. However, given the establishment's positioning, a priority should undoubtedly be to attract and broaden its customer base. In conclusion, I would like to emphasize that, aside from this issue, the restaurant remains of very high quality.
