16/12/2025: Here begins my account, proud and draped in ancient language, as befits a man of noble lineage.
Traveling through the fertile lands of Touraine and the borders of Berry, where steeples tower above humble dwellings and the Church stands guard like a stone sentinel, I, Sir Ludovic de Téléton, of noble blood and renowned fame, stopped at the Auberge du Grèbe, situated on the very site of the church of Lureuil, a place worthy of receiving a traveling prince.
As soon as I disembarked, I was given a place of honor, and a rich duck breast was brought to me, cooked to such perfection that many a lord would have envied such a presentation. The flesh was tender and juicy, the fat crisp like molten gold, and I reflected that many a court feast could not attain such excellence.
I then summoned the servant, my gaze fixed and my voice firm, and tested him with many questions about his knowledge and skill, for no one serves Ludovico di Teleton without demonstrating their worth. He answered with humility and skill, knowing when to speak and when to be silent, a rare quality among those at the table.
For this good and loyal service, and so that it would be known that I am not stingy with my generosity, I left a considerable sum as a tip, more than many lesser barons do. Thus I displayed my munificence, as befits a man of my station.
And when I left the inn, everyone knew that an important personage had broken bread there. Indeed, let every traveler stop there: he will find good food, and, if he has a noble heart, cause to be as proud as I.
