I simply ordered an ice cream and asked if it was possible to change the flavor on the menu, for example, to replace chocolate with pistachio. The cashier coldly replied: **"No."** I explained to her that in other Flunch locations, this is done without any problem. Her response, still just as cold: **"Here, it's no."** Fine. I can understand that an establishment applies its own rules. But there's a difference between **enforcing a rule and talking down to a customer.** When you work at the cash register, you're the first point of contact with the customer. You represent the brand. A smile, a minimum of politeness, and a proper explanation cost nothing. And it's precisely these kinds of "little details" that can lose customers. It wasn't the ice cream that bothered me, it was the attitude. If every customer leaves with this impression, it's no wonder some don't come back. Proof: I finally went to the Flunch in Noyelles-Godault, where I ordered the exact same thing and it wasn't a problem at all. The welcome and the way the customer was treated were completely different. A chain can invest in its products, its restaurants, and its advertising, but if the person behind the till drives customers away, everything else is pointless. I find it truly unfortunate that such a simple experience can leave such a bad impression.
