19/08/2024: Un excellent moment, autant pour le cadre (en intérieur à cause d'un orage de dernière minute) que pour les plats dégustés. Les plats sont beaux et bons. Pour notre part, à classer entre le bistronomique et le gastronomique. Quant au service, tout se fait dans une ambiance très professionnelle mais détendue.

16/05/2024: We come to L’Isle every year now since 16 years and stay 4-6 weeks. We have tried most every restaurant in the area to include Islo. It had been a couple of years since we dined at Islo because last time was not too pleasant. Our table smelled musty or of sewer gas, drain gas, which most of the evening overpowered that of our dinner. The dinner looked perfect, lovely presentation and the service was commendable so in hopes the smell problems had been solved I tried to reserve again. According to their site, I sent a text message, 6 weeks in advance, requesting a table. I don’t speak French so calling from Germany was not possible. The next day I received a message back that they would not take May reservations until after the 1st of May. In early May I again sent a text message. No response. A couple of days later I again texted a request. No response. So I guessed they were not interested in my business. The other day we walked past their place of business. For a restaurant with such high ratings it looks rather shabby from outside. I attach a picture. Windows needed washing, menu box in dire need of repairs, a bare wire hanging down the front and a storefront that has not seen any work done in many years. Not very appealing for a top class restaurant. So no appointment this year.

27/04/2024: What a wonderful experience. The hostess was so fantastic as she was so engaging and always smiling. The food…wow! Small, intimate restaurant. Make reservations as you do not want to miss the experience.
