And they were delicious, hot, sliced, crispy, and incredibly tasty.
I'd be willing to drive 350 km to do it again.

03/07/2026: Tamara and Bruno were friendly and efficient hosts - a great stopping off point near to Grot Chauvet2 and the Pont d’Arc 20 mins by car and between Lyon Montpellier and Marseille.
12/06/2026: We had a memorable three days in Barjac at La Gourguille. Bruno and Tamara are welcoming and just perfect hosts. We stayed in the St Louis rooms. The views were as wonderful as the amenities. We enjoyed the pool, the steam shower, playing mancala and eating amazing meals served on the terrace or dining room. Perfect location for exploring the region. Tamara also gave a great recommendations for cultural sites and local restaurants. We hope to return!

27/06/2026: We didn't eat there, just had a drink.
Fortunately, there were fans with water vapor on the terrace, which was very pleasant.
A lovely place to spend time.
Very nice interior inside.
Friendly service.
The food they served looked appealing.
We might go back to try it sometime too 😉
Nice view of the beautiful market square where a market is held on Fridays; also an opportunity to stop by if you are in the area and enjoy everything on the terrace here.

14/07/2026: What can I say? We ordered two Cokes, and the waiter brought us two already opened Coke Zeros, which is against the rules (they're supposed to be opened in front of us). Then we were told the bar was closing soon, so we tried to finish our drinks quickly. Not even 30 seconds later, he came back and said, "That'll be 27 euros." We went to pay, I paid, and realized the bill was incredibly high. I told the waiter, and he started telling me that carafes of tap water were being charged at 1 euro each, which is illegal because tap water is free. I pointed out that it was against the rules, and he told his colleague, "Give him back his 4 euros," referring to the difference he was missing. It wasn't 4 euros, but he tried to rip us off without admitting he was wrong, and if he does this to all the customers, it'll add up to a good amount! Please double-check your bill before paying, beware!

Friday is market day in Barjac.
Terrace fills up quickly.
But it's a nice place where people meet up for a drink, a coffee ☕️ or simply to spend some quality time with friends.

18/08/2024: Lors de la foire à la brocante nous avons déjeuner dans ce restaurant qui proposait un menu unique. Nous avons donc pris l'aïoli et un tartare de bœuf. Rien à dire sinon que du positif.

Cheveux noir dans le tartare qui, selon la gérante, appartiendrait à mon mari.. blond et chauve ?
Les toilettes sont inaccessibles… et la gérante est selon elle trop débordée pour assurer ! Avons payé avec le sourire mais triste endroit finalement, ce que l’on appelle sans doute un « piège à touristes » bien situé !

09/09/2024: On a cycle ride in the area, we called on a Sunday. Very pleased they were still open. Waiter was friendly and the sharing board of meat and cheese was very good value. Altogether lovely atmosphere, good food and friendliness. Definitely recommend.
20/08/2024: Super endroit ..accueil exceptionnel..nourriture au top même en période de braderie...un endroit à découvrir sans hésitations.

21/05/2024: Wer schlecht gespülte und klebrige Weingläser und nicht trinkbaren Hauswein mag, hat vielleicht Spaß an der hochpreisigen experimentellen Küche.
Indiskutabel.
Zum Glück hatten wir im Occitaine und Burgund tolle Erlebnisse im Land und in der Gastronomie, so dass das Etablissement hiermit einfach vergessen wird.

03/08/2024: Very, very good burgers and fries, all made in house. Our kids loved the kid’s menu as well. They deserve a better location, as the outside and inside seating is limited.
