Les Jarres

Castillon-Du-Gard
15/05/2026: Thoroughly enjoyed our meal here. Staffvery attentive and friendly, restaurant decor lovely and all in all a great evening.
08/05/2026: With its terrace in the heart of the village of Castillon du Gard, designated a "small village of character," Les Jarres is a restaurant with a warm and authentic atmosphere, offering cuisine that truly reflects the local region. From the charcuterie board generously laden with local specialties to the sea bream with its fresh and carefully prepared accompaniments, and the grilled calf's head cooked on the plancha, every dish is vibrant and worth trying. The service is friendly and efficient. I highly recommend this restaurant for a culinary stop in the Gard region.

29/05/2026: Truly the most wonderful experience! The food, the service, and the details were phenomenal. We cannot thank Steeve and Samantha enough for their service, going above and beyond, and providing an exceptional time in France. I would return to France just for this restaurant.

Le Vieux Castillon

14/05/2026: Overall, a superb experience. A magnificent setting, with a special mention for the pool. However, a few minor details could be improved: - Outdated room decor - Pool towels with holes

Casa Benelli

Castillon-Du-Gard
17/07/2026: We went here for dinner with four people on the recommendation of our B&B. All pizzas cost €14, drink prices were also very reasonable, and the service was friendly and correct. We have no complaints about that. Unfortunately, the rest of the experience was a disappointment. Although we had made a reservation, we were given a table in the most secluded and hottest spot on the terrace. On a warm summer evening at 8 pm, that spot was completely enclosed by a wooden fence that was also overgrown with wisteria at the top and sides. There was literally not a breath of wind in that corner, making the heat unbearable and ensuring we really did not feel comfortable there. Nevertheless, there was still plenty of room in the more open (read: airier) parts of the terrace. The food failed to convince us either. The dough was fresh, but not risen: a thin, hard, flat base, not what we expect from an Italian pizza. The menu listed Emmental instead of mozzarella, which was clearly noticeable in the taste. That is a choice, but for us, it detracted from the pizza. Three out of four left more than half of their pizza uneaten. It is a shame, because with a bit more attention to seating comfort on warm days and a better pizza, this could have been a much more pleasant experience. Unfortunately, for us, this is not a place to return to.
26/05/2026: Moderate prices, rustic ambience, friendly service, tasty food.
