The atmosphere and setting are welcoming and family-oriented, which is definitely worth appreciating. Excellent value for money – we highly recommend it.

01/07/2026: It's a shame there were no towels in the drive-through packaging.
27/06/2026: We arrived on a Saturday night at 10:15 PM (the McDonald's app showed the restaurant as "open"), only to find table service and the self-service kiosks disabled. We waited in line at the counter only to be told, "There's a reason the kiosks are disabled," and we had to use the drive-thru. We went through the drive-thru, and one book and two drinks were missing, and a dessert had been changed... To make matters worse, the restaurant door had a sign saying "Open until 11 PM on Saturdays." When we tried to go back inside to eat, the door was closed (and it was before 11 PM)...

The duck confit: reheated food, it was a cold duck leg with completely dry skin.
Wait for the grand finale:
The "gourmet" coffee?
Absolutely disgusting: a profiterole filled with a bulging dollop of whipped cream! Revolting...
Swarms of flies during the meal:
The waiter: "Well, yes, it's because of the fish served at the table!"
The gourmet coffee: €3.80 extra per person, no less!
We spent €94 for two. I do not recommend it.
15/06/2026: We celebrated my birthday and a marriage proposal there; the food was excellent, and the service was very, very pleasant. We recommend it 100%!

07/07/2026: Well... it's hard to even give the food one star. A fish soup for €13 that tasted like a bouillon cube. Squid that tasted like it came straight from a can. It was the only restaurant open. The location is good, of course, and the staff was attentive, even to our dog. Two stars for that. Okay for a drink. But not for a meal.
07/07/2026: Peaceful setting overlooking the bay, excellent welcome and service, generous and well-prepared dishes (beautiful sea bass). A truly lovely place!

07/06/2026: We were very disappointed with our order. We ordered a Bolognese and a Margherita, but both pizzas were very sparsely topped. There was very little meat, almost no toppings on the Margherita, and the crust was very thin, hard, and unpleasant to eat.
Furthermore, the pizzas were advertised as large, but they seemed very small to us. The overall quality really suggested low-end products. Honestly, they reminded us more of mass-produced supermarket flammekueches than real pizzeria pizzas.
We called to report these problems, but the person on the phone was unpleasant and didn't listen to our comments. For the price we paid, we expected a completely different level of quality and service. A very disappointing experience that we will not repeat. (Even in the photo, it looks better topped.)

03/06/2024: On a Sunday evening with much of the area between Bordeaux and Lège-Cap-Ferret closed we were a little concerned about finding a restaurant open at all. On TripAdvisor Le Makhila was indeed shown as closed, but thankfully incorrectly. We received a warm welcome and were immediately impressed by the ambience and smell from the kitchen. We had future de poissons and salad de chevre chaud for starters, the fish dish was effectively boquerones fritos and absolutely perfect. Cod on ratatouille and squid mains were delicious, the house wine and the bill very reasonable. Highly recommended.
