We were invited by friends who were discovering Bastia.
The least polite thing was to respect their choice...In old
Bastiais I have nostalgia for the old Chez Mémé... You will perhaps admit that the mass tourism boom has led to incontestable excesses which I would like to believe you do not share. Your response honors you.
We could not imagine that what was proposed on the board would be very far from a deplorable reality. The "Corsican" menu consists of spreading out on the same plate samples which are supposed to be Corsican...
Whether there is a cook is doubtful. As for the fisherman's menu, it's the pompom. He fishes for products probably found at the local supermarket.
As for the service, the word does not correspond to reality. The waitress seemed angry, perhaps at having to serve this kind of food. In Bastia you can have much better. But exploiting the tourist in this way inevitably leads to the closure of the establishment as shown by the abandoned neighboring terraces.

30/10/2023: To flee! Go your way. Frozen cuisine without flavor and very expensive like almost everywhere in Corsica. Really a shame... there are, however, a few nuggets that you won't find in tourist guides

06/04/2024: The pizza chef is knowledgeable, passionate, really good at preparing pizzas.
The oven is electric, but the cooking is perfect... it is very rare that I eat the broth of a pizza, it must be really light and well done, and this is the case here.
The place is almost hidden, but still very central and in a quiet area.
The menu suggests classic recipes, with some recipes more focused on Corsican ingredients.
The mozzarella used is excellent (this is not so obvious outside of Italy).
I found the Peroni Nastro Azzurro beer to drink, there is also the classic and excellent Pietra Corsican.
Exquisite staff, they also work intensely for home deliveries, which is another excellent indicator of the goodness of the product.
To be recommended without reservations!
