04/08/2024: We stayed six nights at the Les Gentianettes hotel, and overall, our experience was quite satisfactory. The setting of the hotel is elegant, offering a real change of scenery. The services offered, such as the swimming pool, sauna, hammam and jacuzzis, are in perfect condition and greatly contributed to our well-being during our stay. The welcome from all the staff of the establishment was very warm. However, we were disappointed by the attitude of the hostess, who lacked commercial sense and friendliness. After five nights, we noticed that the bedding, although of good quality, did not suit us (too hard) because there was no real mattress topper. We asked if it was possible to add one to soften our mattress, but she simply replied that the bedding was exceptional and that she did not understand our request, and above all, she did not try to find one. solution. This unsympathetic response tarnished our stay. As a result, we considered leaving the hotel early, but no refund was possible, forcing us to stay. It's a shame to end on a negative note when the establishment as a whole is rather satisfactory. For future customers, it is also important to note that catering and breakfasts are quite expensive. Plan a substantial budget, with prices of €25 for breakfast and €37 per person for a pierrade, for example. Even if the staff remains very friendly, apart from the hostess, they lack a lot of experience. We had to request drinks at a dinner several times and also had to request that part of our bill be canceled for drinks at the pool that did not concern us. Despite these inconveniences, the Les Gentianettes hotel remains a pleasant place for a relaxing stay, provided you are prepared for certain costs and a variable welcome depending on the people you talk to.

23/09/2024: This was already one of the best places in Abondance but with the new owner it is a different level. Really good restaurant, the chef is especially very good in fish. Coquiles, Arctic Char are very well prepared.

25/08/2024: Ça commençait mal, ça s’est bien terminé. Nous venons avant 13h pour un apéro et un petit plat, une serveuse nous dit direct que ce n’est plus possible de manger. Et elle a un air dédaigneux quand on parle de spritz. Nous nous installons pour boire les verres. Et reposons la question pour grignoter quelque chose a la deuxième serveuse beaucoup plus souriante. Elle se renseigne et apporte toute la carte. Très bon plat du jour, risotto, assiette de fromage… Une dizaine de personnes seront prises après nous pour manger aussi ! Terrasse sympa et ombragée au bord du torrent. Cuisine fine. Mais un peu cher. Attention à l’accueil. Heureusement que la deuxième serveuse était là…
