Les meilleurs restaurants en La Chapelle-D'Abondance

06/04/2026: My mother-in-law had given us all a voucher for a meal at this restaurant. We were thrilled to be able to go, but when my mother-in-law called to make a reservation, to our surprise, we were told that the establishment didn't accept groups. Thinking it was a mistake, my sister-in-law called back for an explanation, and again, she was told that groups were no longer catered for, but that we could go to La Barathe, the other restaurant which, while certainly very good, isn't the gourmet restaurant we had our hearts set on. Faced with these very vague explanations (if we're going by that logic, two people are considered a group…), I decided to call as well and asked to speak to a manager. He then assured me that it was simply because there was no space available that evening and that we had been offered another night (which is quite true; we were offered a Thursday evening instead of Saturday, as groups were apparently accepted during the week – except, of course, that people are usually available on weekends…). When this explanation was given to me, and since groups were apparently finally accepted on Saturdays, I expressed my understanding, explaining that we had clearly misunderstood each other, and simply asked to book for another Saturday evening. And then, once again, surprise, surprise, I was informed that, following the (very factual and unbiased) opinion expressed by my sister-in-law, we were no longer welcome. I remain shocked by the lack of professionalism of some, who still dare to comment on my sister-in-law's review by distorting the facts and claiming that another date had been offered without specifying that only weekday dates were possible, not weekends. Strange, very strange… It's a shame, as we're from the area and often recommended this restaurant, but, as they clearly stated, we'll most certainly be better received elsewhere :)
