19/08/2026: Quick and friendly service on the terrace allowed us to fully enjoy our lunch despite the heat. ☀️ No complaints whatsoever: the portions were generous, delicious, and flavorful.
A wonderful stop that we highly recommend! 😊
18/08/2026: It's difficult to find an open restaurant in La Châtre in mid-August... So we ended up at Freddy's, a well-reviewed brasserie.
Almost all the tables were occupied, but we were given one.
The place was very noisy, and the waiters were running around everywhere. The wait to be served reflected this. The bread basket we ordered never arrived at our table.
As for the food... Judging by the menu, it seems nothing is homemade, so don't expect anything other than very basic fare.
Chicken tenders for my partner, goat cheese salad (on sliced bread 😩) for me... Frozen fries... In short... I wouldn't call it a restaurant, but it all depends on what you're looking for.
We didn't try the "Alsatian specialties," so we can't comment on them.
The owner, however, remained pleasant and smiling.

22/03/2026: I highly recommend Instant Goû’Thé.
It's become a real must-visit for me, whether with friends or family. You always feel welcome there, in a warm and relaxing atmosphere.
The manager and her entire team are incredibly kind, always listening and attentive to everyone. I especially want to highlight their gentleness with my youngest child, who has neurodivergence: despite his sometimes overflowing energy, he is always welcomed with patience, respect, and a listening ear… and that's priceless. As for the food, everything is a delight! The chestnut cream sponge cake is my favorite. 🥰 The products are delicious, high-quality, and you can taste the attention to detail in every bite. I'm a complete fan! 🤤 We go at least once a week, and it's always a renewed pleasure!
In fact, I'm there right now! 😃

01/07/2026: This review concerns only the restaurant itself. The service is impeccable, and everyone is very kind and friendly, but the value for money of some dishes leaves something to be desired. The 180g piece of beef was stringy and sinewy, a bit white, and deserved to be prepared a little better for that price. It came with a little mashed potato, vegetables, and fries.
(I asked three times for the fries without salt, and they still ended up with salt on them...) On the other hand, the bull steak tartare, prepared right in front of you, was really good. Charging high prices is fine, but you have to live up to them; service isn't everything. I'm still giving it three stars because, to be fair, we ate well, but we've also eaten better elsewhere for much less. Best of luck!
12/06/2026: We had a group meal (25 people) after visiting George Sand's estate in Nohant/Vic. We received a very warm welcome from the staff at the beautiful restaurant. It's well located, with simple but very bright decor. The dining rooms are bright and pleasant.
The (group) meal was excellent, and the prices were very reasonable. Tables were properly set, etc. It's close to George Sand's estate, the renowned La Châtre motor racing circuit, and Lignières with its national donkey fair. A beautiful region full of charming little places.
3-star hotel.

12/08/2026: Excellent food, I highly recommend it. Very affordable prices, very friendly staff, fast service. I really recommend it.
20/04/2026: I wanted to go there for dinner, but when I arrived and saw the state of the storefront, well, we turned around and left. The windows are filthy, covered in streaks. You have to wonder if the storefront is as dirty as the kitchens are.

23/07/2026: Passing through one weekday evening in July, we stopped on the terrace for a chef's burger (surprise! Today it was delicious chorizo and cheese) and an andouillette sausage, all served with fries and salad—just the right amount of filling. The service was really friendly, and the chef even came by to say good evening. We highly recommend it :-)

They often say that a restaurant is judged by the state of its toilets... well, that's certainly true of this one.
As I was leaving the restroom, I saw the owner spreading tomato sauce on a pizza base with his bare hands, even though he had just opened the door for us.
Run away before you risk septicemia in this restaurant.
In fact, mea culpa, that's exactly what we did before our aperitifs even arrived at our table... The waitress, on her boss's orders, chased us down to demand payment for what we hadn't consumed. The health inspectors should pay a visit to this establishment, which seems more than a little dubious... ugh...

The waiter was clearly out of his depth and should show a bit more enthusiasm.
The terrace is very pleasant, and we had a good time there.

17/07/2024: So glad to take friends here as the staff and more importantly the food is amazing and best value for money you will get! Plenty to choose from pre cooked in the buffet and a wok grill of what you pick to get cooked in front of you with the sauce of your choice
