Tapas platters 🍷👌

The food is good, and the beers are delicious.
The establishment often hosts concerts and dance parties (check their schedule).
I highly recommend it if you're passing through Gourdon or the surrounding area 👌👌

The owner is extremely friendly, an expert in his field, and can provide information on every product and wine offered. If you're looking for people passionate about traditional French cuisine, the owners will not disappoint. Don't change a thing!

30/10/2025: A warm and welcoming atmosphere, even arriving at the last minute. The staff went out of their way to find us a table for five at 8:30 pm. And be warned, the salads are very generous!

01/10/2025: The dish was good because of the good products. Just the accompaniment was a little light for the price, the coconut curry sauce was delicious, the shrimp were a little undercooked with a slight taste of having probably been seared after the meat (but very light). Dessert: excellent quality gourmet coffee. The owner, who speaks frankly, is very friendly and affable. Value for money is a little high. Mixed opinion on the service. The terrace is pleasant...to try to make up your own mind.

15/09/2025: We had a wonderful time at the restaurant: the very friendly waiters greeted us and gave us a seat on the terrace. We ordered homemade burgers, which surprised us with their soft and tender meat, soft buns with sauce, and uniquely shaped fries. The terrace offers a beautiful view of the city and a quiet location in the city center. I highly recommend it. 👌🏻

16/10/2025: We arrived by chance at this place, which welcomes many bikers. It has a beautiful terrace with soft music. The menu is promising, but due to lack of time, we settled for tea, coffee, apple pie, and caramel pie. So good that we had more!! Thanks to the owner who not only provides the service herself, but also prefers payment in CASH... especially for small amounts.

21/08/2024: Discovery of this restaurant during our stop in this charming village of Gourdon.
Despite our "late" arrival at 8:40 p.m., we set up a table for 2 and...we had a blast!!!
We see that the chef (and his team) are enjoying their kitchen!
Tuna tataki with chorizo mayonnaise and summer vegetables.
Caesar salad with chicken with homemade breading, delicious sauce, good pieces of cheese.
Desserts! Mmmmmmmm
Lavender financier with peach and lavender cream.
A killing, a discovery! Well done!
Raspberry/coconut dessert, not sweet, very well balanced.
And everything... plentiful.
In short, we had a blast!!
In addition, the service is done with a smile and is efficient despite the crowds of a summer evening.
And..the Q/P ratio is more than reasonable.
In short...go there with your eyes closed!

27/08/2024: Aujourd'hui je souhaite partager notre mauvaise expérience au petit restaurant L' Ovalie Restaurant à Gourdon. Nous sommes allés pour la première fois déjeuner avec notre fille, nous avons passé notre commande, mais comme nous avons réalisé qu'il était tard, nous avons demandé s'ils pouvaient le servir bientôt, car nous avions rendez-vous dans une demi-heure, auquel le cuisinier est venu est sorti de la cuisine et s'est mis à crier brutalement avec colère, il est très agressif, il nous a insulté bruyamment, de manière flagrante et sans respect pour les personnes âgées que nous sommes. Nous ne pouvons pas recommander ce restaurant, de plus les frites sont vieilles, brûlées et pleines de graisse impossible à manger. Nous n'avons jamais vu un restaurant comme celui-ci ! Si le cuisinier n'a pas de patience avec les clients, il ne doit pas travailler comme cuisinier, il doit suivre une thérapie pour troubles personnels.
14/08/2024: De passage dans la région, nous nous sommes arrêtés ici ce midi suite aux bons avis sur ce site et nous sommes vraiment satisfait de notre chouette moment passé ! La serveuse et le patron ont le sourire et le contact facile ! Et avec leur bel accent chantant...
Nous avons pris le burger savoyard et le burger perigourdin qui étaient EXCELLENTS !! Les frites aussi sont excellentes ! Et bravo pour la déco qui est super chouette !!!!
Merci à vous ! Lors d'un prochain séjour dans la région, nous ne manquerons pas de revenir y faire un petit tour quitte à faire un petit (grand) détour !!
