31/03/2024: Apart from the breakfast, we were disappointed by our stay in this hotel on several grounds: our room (No. 205) was adjacent to a room (No. 204) which was very noisy (whether it was the footsteps on the parquet floor, the bed and the door), an environment (entrance gate, paths to the parking lot and garden) which is singularly lacking in maintenance, care (electrical wires lying on the lawn, planters which have preserved the dead plants from last year, cut branches littering the lawn, a lawn to mow and potholes), a welcome and a meal (taken on Tuesday evening) below average.

27/03/2024: Sadly Chateau Clery is underwhelming. It is tired and needs a little TLC. It needs to be better maintained and regularly cleaned. Our room 105 was dirty, had a cracked sink, leaking shower and no TV that worked. Their restaurant was very limited and only opened at the weekend, but the choice of menu was 3 starters, 3 mains and 2 desserts and the menu wasn’t changed daily. Breakfast was just about ok, but if you get down at 9am don’t expect a full selection to be available, as supplies weren’t topped up. Once it was gone, it was gone almost rationed. It looked very much like to us that it was being run on a shoestring. There are other and better properties to choose from, so do your homework so you won’t be disappointed as we were. When complaints were raised nothing was done about them. Shameful customer service.
