08/09/2024: A hellish getaway! Yes, the oxymoron is intentional to emphasize the horror! We experienced verbal attacks and aberrant service in a very bland setting and a tense, even violent atmosphere. We left for a long weekend at this address that we knew (a royal arrogance the first time - but acceptable). If you have to specify your profession to be respected - which seems to be the case with the people at the establishment - we are doctors of science and letters in the world of scientific research and academic letters and lawyers. First we were greeted by the son who pointed at us because we didn't come with our dog and he had spent a lot of time arranging all the tables for people with dogs ( fortunately we didn't take her with us because she would have reacted really badly to the yelling from the son and his father... more details to come). Then he told my family member to go find his room on the first floor using his hands. The second clue that this stay was going to be bad! After entering our room on the ground floor, we opened the curtains to see our view of a dirt hill 2 meters outside our window. A room with malfunctioning lights and our room was smaller and dated than our guest's single room. No bathrobe for the pool, looks of disapproval towards certain customers (with dogs or customers younger than the majority clientele) and “Brown-nosing” (I avoid using the word in French here because it is so vulgar ) with these… in short! After being poorly served for the aperitif, we had a glass of house rosé (not very good) and looked at the menu. The father came to our table; he didn't sit still, barely looked at us while looking for the gaze of I don't know who, and he asked us if we had chosen. As soon as I said “not yet”, the father turned around and left, raising his hands and cutting me off before I could finish my sentence to ask questions! We all looked at each other in amazement and speechless! This reigning arrogance was not conducive to a pleasant evening. So, we got up and went to our rooms without having eaten dinner. While going out a little later for a walk, the son stopped us to ask what happened. I couldn't finish my answer without the father yelling at me saying we were liars, the son yelling saying this wasn't happening and that they had worked so hard to prepare the tables and dinner (a la carte or menu, so what was the problem?)! Then... the son said with unprecedented aggression that we were banned from the hotel forever! I tried to ask them if we couldn’t talk calmly – “no, that’s not possible!” You are banned! » It would never occur to us to go back! It seemed like they felt the customers were there for them and their “glory”. I also think that they couldn't stand a woman keeping her cool while daring to contradict them in French (my second language). Needless to say, we left the next morning. Finally we found a hotel in Vaison-la-Romaine where we had an experience of the opposite: an impeccable welcome, warm hosts - the most human and generous we have ever seen, everything in a calm, simple, joyful and pleasant setting with delicious meals. What a total change! I hesitated to write this review because I was, we were, traumatized by this nightmarish experience and I did not want any more retaliation, but it is true that someone who is mistreated must hold the abuser responsible; so we realized that I had to say what happened. As Max recently wrote, never come here unless you value disrespect, arrogance, and insults.

06/09/2024: I am stunned. Unfortunately, I witnessed Max Bayer's experience. The hosts are insolent and insulting. His wife was insulted, sworn at and challenged after her dog barked. Such behavior from hosts is indeed extremely unprofessional and inappropriate! the rooms are very basic and need renovation. Proper cleaning would also be desirable. Same thing for meals. No love is present. No quality. No taste. Disservice. 3 stars are definitely not justified here. an anonymous hotel tester.
