24/08/2026: We came for the first time during the medieval festival, and were pleasantly surprised. Thank you for the quality and the truly excellent food.
Moreover, they use local and homemade products.
We will definitely be back.

The room was very quiet and comfortable.
Dinner was very good, as was the wine.
There is ample parking.
I highly recommend this hotel.
26/04/2026: A truly lovely and warm welcome!
We were just passing through for one night.
The room is simple but comfortable and overlooks a pretty garden.
The breakfast is very good and reasonably priced! And the mango jam is delicious!!!! Thank you again for everything.

03/05/2026: A lovely little restaurant. Reservations are required in advance, and they accept dogs on the terrace. As the weather was improving, we were kindly offered a table inside, alone in a small room. A very thoughtful gesture indeed. The service was a bit slow for the main courses. I recommend the Chauvinois burger and the half duck breast. However, the beef dish was rather bland; tasty but lacking in sauce.
14/04/2026: Lunch on the way back from vacation, so unplanned... no problem finding something to eat. Excellent restaurant. Welcoming. Offers set menus at lunchtime on weekdays.

Restaurant Le Lion d'Or

08/06/2026: We had a lovely time at this restaurant. The dishes were as beautiful as they were delicious, with elegant presentation and excellent flavors.
However, a few things could be improved. The decor could perhaps use a refresh to create a warmer atmosphere. I also found the cheese rather bland, and the dessert was served very lukewarm, which made it less enjoyable.
Finally, the staff is professional and friendly, although a smile would add an extra touch of warmth.
Overall, a good experience, with a few tweaks that could make all the difference.
23/05/2026: The welcome was normal, nothing to report, but the service was mediocre. They practically jumped on us, not even giving us time to look at the appetizer menu. They brought us rock-hard croutons to spread with tuna rillettes? Hello, dentures! We asked the waitress why the bread was so hard, and she replied, "It's all I have," before giving us slices of bread. She came back to take our order without waiting for us to finish our appetizers. Unhappy and not very friendly, she returned later. The menu wasn't worth the price, the young waiters were too attentive at the table, in short, a bad experience at this express restaurant, "Le Lion d'Or," which wasn't very welcoming. A sad end, or perhaps just plain hungry? 😂🤣

30/08/2026: A nice place to eat, with delicious food. When I eat there at lunchtime, the food is often substantial enough to keep me going until dinner; it's very filling.
15/08/2026: Frankly, considering the price and the portion sizes for a steak cut in half and three fries... ridiculous.

07/09/2026: Passing through Chauvigny, we chose this crêperie because it was the first restaurant we came across, and we weren't disappointed! We had a hard time choosing our dishes, as the menu was full of mouthwatering options. We finally ordered a duck breast and a burger with homemade fries and salad, both of which were generous portions and absolutely delicious, along with a small glass of excellent Sauvignon Blanc. The service was impeccable; the waiter was very friendly and had a great sense of humor. The setting is also lovely, right in the heart of the medieval town, surrounded by castles and just a stone's throw from the "Giants of the Sky," which we were able to admire right after our meal.
