While in Strasbourg, I had booked a table online at this restaurant near my work location. I'm glad I called back the next day, as I hadn't received confirmation of my reservation, contrary to the message I'd received. I almost missed my appointment. The service was inconsistent. One young waitress was very efficient, but the older ones were rather inattentive. I had to ask for things several times. The atmosphere wasn't intimate, more like a bistro/bar, and the food was excellent, which redeemed the overall impression, which was somewhat marred by the reception and service, apart from the young waitress.

It's been a long time since I've eaten such good mussels! Top-notch service and a warm atmosphere, warming the heart in cold weather.

We visited the animal museum at the University of Strasbourg, after which, given the unusual hours, the only place open was the observatory, a typical Alsatian restaurant, good and inexpensive. I recommend the Alsatian pizza. The coffee and wine are also excellent.
