A very beautiful historic site, with typical Corsican streets and alleyways, a nod to the establishment "Chez Tao", where Jacques Higelin used to spend time.

The Citadel of Calvi is well worth a visit. Overlooking the town and port, it offers magnificent views of the sea and surrounding mountains. Strolling within the ramparts and through the narrow streets feels like stepping back in time. During peak season, it's best to visit in the late afternoon to enjoy the light and avoid the intense heat. Take your time to admire the scenery and respect the tranquility of this still-inhabited place. A must-see in Calvi and Corsica, both for its history and the beauty of its natural setting.

Le lieu est magique, mais les habitants ont rénové en faisant passer les tuyaux à l'extérieur des câbles électriques partout et autres boîte EDF en plastique. Tous ça gâche le paysage. L'accès au rempart n'est pas sécurisé, c'est dangereux.

It's a steep climb, like everywhere in Corsica, with very high ramparts. Lovely views. A very good and pleasant lunch at the golf course café... unfortunately, very few shops were open.

A beautiful place. Worth discovering, very lively in the evening…

Living in the citadel seemed like a good idea. It's free to visit. 🙂
