08/08/2026: There are restaurants where you reserve a table. And then there are those where, without even planning it, you reserve your entire afternoon. 12:45 p.m. On the corner of a street and the charming Impasse des Lutins, we push open the door of Muriel's bouchon. She looks at us, sizes us up: tourists passing through in search of Lyon's local color, or true bon vivants? She seems to have passed the test. The cuisine is generous, Lyonnais, without any fuss. But the real menu is Muriel. Her life, her encounters, her troubles, her memories. We talk, we eat, we drink, we remake Lyon and then the world. We leave at 4 p.m. A true bouchon isn't just about quenelles, checkered tablecloths, or Punch and Judy. It needs a soul. And a Muriel like that can't be manufactured.
