Amelia Canta sur Saint-Emilion

We stopped at 4 pm for a glass of Coke, a lemonade, and a delicious ice cream sundae (Owl). The servers were very pleasant (the season hasn't started yet 😉). They kindly changed the flavor of one of the two scoops in my sundae and refilled my water bottle. I always stop here when I'm in Saint-Émilion 👍

We stopped for a quick coffee/tea break this morning, having arrived early for sightseeing. No complaints. The waiters were super friendly, despite some rather annoying tourists first thing in the morning.

A lovely terrace below the church and its bell tower. We were served promptly despite the crowds, and the servers were all very pleasant! The duck confit on a bed of new potatoes was a delight for my taste buds.

It was absolutely delicious! I don't understand why so many reviews mention bland food and small portions: from appetizers to dessert, everything was perfectly done.

We came on a Sunday evening. We started with rillettes: good, but clearly not enough toast (only a few small pieces for a whole jar meant to be shared between two). We had to supplement with bread from the basket, which was a shame. Next, we had a "Venus" galette (ham, cheese, egg). It was decent, nothing special, accompanied by a bagged salad that didn't add much. At €13, it's a good option, but nothing memorable. I also ordered a Coke Zero, served in a glass with very little taste and almost no bubbles—to the point where I wondered if it was even Coca-Cola. At the time, I preferred not to mention it, as it can sometimes be tiresome to have to point out these kinds of things. But I'm taking the time to write this review here afterward, especially since I like to leave reviews, whether positive or negative—even if, this time, it's rather mixed to negative. We finished with a coffee. Overall, the prices are reasonable, but the quality is fairly average. The restaurant is well located, on a pleasant, clean, and rather pretty square. It's worth noting, however, that the service was friendly and welcoming. That said, since we were just passing through for a quick meal, we didn't have much interaction. All in all, it's a convenient option, but not a must-try.
