Arkose sur Montreuil

A very nice climbing gym, the staff are very friendly, and the facilities are well-maintained. I recommend it.

Very clean room, very friendly staff, superb terrace and very nice openings, an incredible room, the best in Arkose!

Small (especially if you ignore the traverses) but nice gym, though it's showing its age. The central mushroom-shaped climbing wall is a plus compared to newer gyms. It's handy if you're nearby, but it's not one of the best gyms available these days. The quality of the routes is lower than at Nation/Issy/Massy. As soon as there are a few people around, it's very noticeable because it's so cramped; and if you combine a kids' lesson where they're running around with a quick route-setting session during the lunchtime rush, you're in trouble.

More and more people are getting there; we're not quite at Nation's level yet, but we're getting there… The venue itself is great, the openings are too, and the staff are generally very friendly. Just one thing that's incomprehensible: ceiling fans running during a heatwave, with the small windows closed… heat rises, so it makes sense to keep the windows closed in winter so the heat accumulates and warms the room, and open them in summer so the heat escapes. The same goes for the ceiling fans: turn them on in winter to push the heat downwards and turn them off in summer to let it rise to the ceiling and away from us.

Great time at one of my favorite Arkose locations! Can't wait to enjoy a nice beer on their terrace when the weather gets warmer :) Special mention for their food, which is always delicious, and for all the games available!

Excellent routes, as always with Arkose. The gym is well-ventilated and bright, which is pleasant. However, there are two major drawbacks. First, the mandatory use of liquid chalk for obscure reasons, even though it's really terrible for holding holds, especially the chalk sold by Arkose, which is particularly poor quality (pasty, doesn't stick to the skin, and comes off in two or three movements) --> go take some chemistry lessons at Friction Labs. Second, and a significant drawback, is the anarchist graffiti everywhere in the gym (toilets, changing rooms, etc.). Either you get it removed, or you condone it. We live in a democracy, don't forget that. If they were swastikas, they would have been gone a long time ago, I think. It's a shame that climbing is becoming politicized...

Always welcoming, very pleasant atmosphere both for climbing and for a coffee break.

Friendly team, lots of different routes, the gym isn't very big, but the routes change often, so it's perfect for climbing and working on hard routes.
