Atlantic Express sur Brest

Visited in June 2026, the polar and tropical pavilions represented half of the site, but prices were lowered accordingly. The view was basic but adequate.

Currently, only the Brittany Pavilion is open. But it's also worth a visit.

It's definitely worth a visit. A harmonious complex of buildings with beautifully landscaped gardens. The large aquariums invite you to linger, and there are benches and audio guides. We only deducted one star because, unfortunately, two large areas were closed for renovations. Of course, sometimes things like this happen, and we only had to pay half the usual entrance fee. Overall, it was a lovely outing for us.

It's great, but for the moment only the Bretagne is open; the Tropicale opens on July 5, 2026.

Beautiful aquarium, friendly staff. Unfortunately, we visited when two of the three areas were closed, so we'll have to come back!

Great place, but some of the animals are behaving extremely strangely. ``` I was at Océanopolis last week. The facility is impeccably maintained, and the tanks are truly impressive. However, I had a few experiences that left me somewhat puzzled. With the penguins, I had the feeling that the animals reacted extremely strongly to my movements. Every time I raised my arm in front of the glass to take a picture, they lined up and watched me for almost a minute – it seemed almost rehearsed, or as if they were waiting for a signal. One keeper simply said they were "very attentive animals," but it felt somehow unnatural. The strangest thing, however, was in the shark tank. One of the larger sharks seemed to dislike my bright yellow jacket intensely. Every time I walked along the glass, the shark swam right alongside me, practically staring at me through the glass. When I then stopped, it briefly moved away and made a kind of "ramming" motion against the glass, precisely where I was standing. It was probably just a coincidence and related to the current in the tank. I had something to do, but it was really unpleasant at the time. I don't know if the aquarium is experimenting with new stimuli or if the animals there are just unusually curious, but you probably shouldn't draw too much attention to yourself in the large tanks. Nevertheless, it's a place worth seeing if you don't let such coincidences bother you.

Pure enchantment! It's a magical place and, what's more, very informative. Despite the construction work, there was so much to see that you could easily spend hours there. Magnificent! 🤩

A well-maintained, fun, and interesting aquarium. Staffed by welcoming and passionate people. Free parking, and food available on site.

A highly interesting and informative experience. Océanopolis features excellent, large window displays showcasing a diverse range of fish, shellfish, and other marine life that beautifully reflect the local ocean ecosystem. While some areas of the facility are currently undergoing redevelopment, the sections that remain open are outstanding and well worth the visit.
