We were heard of this restaurant by a local lady, and we were not disappointed. The food was delicious, and a good sized serves. We tried the blood sausage, calamari and lobster dishes, all different, but all tasty. My only suggestion was that it was a little warm inside, and could have benefited from a little light background music. Overall, I’d recommend this restaurant, especially if you are a tourist like myself.

For the legendary hare à la royale (reasonably priced) and other good, impeccably prepared rustic dishes. Country bistro atmosphere. Regular clientele. Back a year later. Superb royal hare. The squid are just as good. Excellent address. Returning (twice) in 2023, and still as good. We tried the delicious Oreiller de la Belle Aurore, in a hot pâté version. Please note: you must reserve it at least three days in advance. But it's definitely worth it. Back in May. Only two tables occupied, including ours. This is truly a popular restaurant for game. Very good upwind flight. The wine list is even poorer than in winter.

Rarely have you seen such good value for money in Paris, especially since you have the impression of being transported to the Basque country! Given the price of train tickets at the moment, this is the best option to discover this region! The little veranda at the back of the restaurant has a crazy charm, especially since there are magnificent palas on display there. Be careful, they are not used as a spoon to eat the soup! Lol Farewell!

Dear friend, we cannot call ourselves a gourmet Without opening the door to History a little. A dish is missing from our taste buds The royal hare, from Lent the gentleman. A chipiron fricassee worthy of bistronomists, The scented terrine, they know how to welcome us, Stuffed piquillos, the taste is commendable, The only downside is that there are three of them and the chef is economical. Then comes the animal, the purpose of our visit It is melting as can be, its flesh is disintegrating, The filling is sparse, the taste is imperial. The stomach is not full, long live the dessert, An exquisite tourtiere with sweet native flavors, A light millefeuille with centuries-old charm. As an insider says: at Bascou “we don’t just eat hare à la royale, we eat 5 centuries of history”

We enjoyed an excellent meal of robust Basque cuisine and regional wine. The restaurant interior is sober rather than atmospheric. The service was pleasant, and the prices are fair. I will be returning to this restaurant.

Great place serving french basque food. All dishes we ordered were superb, the desserts especially so. Prices were reasonable for the quality of the food. Recommended

Great little find during a weekend in the capital. Refined and tasty cuisine. A real treat at very reasonable prices for a gourmet restaurant in the heart of Paris. Beautiful wine list and simple, friendly service. New flavors for us, and visiting friends were more than delighted.

Au Bascou continues to deliver - we had an excellent meal, the special of the day (poularde with truffles) and scallops. The staff are very friendly and exceedingly helpful and attentive. This is a great place, not to be missed!

31/08/2024: Generous food portions at good price. Steak tartare was good but not amazing. Mozzarella sticks were pretty good. Cheap drinks in happy and great service.
