Great brasserie in Maubeuge that we stumbled upon during our short stop in the town. Very warm welcome, good humoured and personable, excusing our limited French! Some English spoken so communication wasn’t an issue. The bar restaurant was busy with locals, so great atmosphere. Food was good and reasonably priced, a varied menu to suit all tastes but what was brought to the table was prepared and cooked with care. Chicken tacos were delicious and perigourdine salad was fabulous, reasonably priced Provence rosé, and chocolate crepe with ice cream, delish. But my over riding impression of the place was friendly, welcoming, and jolly! So would 100% recommend.

I came to eat this Friday, June 19th. I ate very well and was well served. The dish was well prepared, the cuisine was top-notch, and the service was top-notch. From an outside point of view, I could see that the owners let the employees do all the work. Thank you to them for the warm welcome.

A fantastic discovery thanks to a TikTok video about their Harry Potter event! We crossed the border from Belgium to have dinner there with three friends, mainly to please one of us who's a huge fan and wanted to try the special meal. 🥰🥰 Everything was perfect: the setting is magnificent, the food excellent, and the whole team was incredibly kind. We know the restaurant business is tough, so a huge congratulations and thank you to them. A big thank you for this unforgettable experience. Delighted Belgian friends who will definitely be back!

Un moment chez Bacchus

16/05/2026: We had a super delicious meal. We were welcomed incredibly warmly. You can feel the passion of the chef, who greets the guests himself and presents his menu. A special plate was also prepared for our daughter. Highly recommended.
05/04/2026: A few improvements to make: - Avoid pouring the last of the champagne from a bottle and then topping it up with a fresh glass; - Avoid serving the beginning of the foie gras terrine; serve a slice instead; - Incredibly long wait times (we arrived at the restaurant at noon and left at 4 p.m.); - Understaffed: for 16 occupied tables, there were only 4 people, including the chef; - Tables are a bit cramped. - The food is generally simple, and the Easter dessert (praline nest) was tasteless. Overall rating: 3
