Au Calice sur Calais

I probably made some poor choices with my dishes, which explains this rating. But I really don't recommend the pineapple carpaccio, which was served to me drowning in burnt caramel. Disappointed.

Lunch today, July 15, 2026: magnificent setting, lovely back courtyard. Friendly and welcoming service. Very good food, a 5A andouillette, delicious with a glass of Côtes du Rhône. Excellent value for money. Thank you for this lovely time in your beautiful establishment. Isabelle

The food was good but prepared in a rather unusual way (probably due to local ingredients 😏): a burger swimming in cheddar cheese, a pineapple carpaccio drenched in overly rich caramel sauce and whipped cream when you'd expect a light and refreshing dessert. However, the atmosphere was relaxed and the servers were friendly, even if the service was a bit slow.

Since reopening, we've visited twice as a family: the first time, on your second day, we had a very good meal. The potjevleesch was delicious, even if the portion was a tad small, and aside from a few minor hiccups (forgivable for an opening day), the experience was very good. Then, wanting to return, we made a reservation for Mother's Day, and it was more than disappointing. The starters were underseasoned, and the service was incredibly slow (we arrived before noon, and at 2:30 pm, we still hadn't received our main course). With two young children, it wasn't possible for us to wait there, which is a real shame, especially since there was only two choices on the menu that day. We'll come back and give it another try, hoping the owners find some top-notch staff, especially in the kitchen. Keep at it, you'll get there!
