The food was good and authentic. Generally service was good as the waiter tried his best to serve. It was a bit disappointing that he didn’t remind us of the ice-cream that came with our kid’s meal when I asked for the bill as the restaurant was also less busy by then. It was before we left that we remembered the ice-cream as part of the meal. My kids resorted to taking the ice-cream outside al-fresco style.

A nostalgic trip back to Alsace, where we lived from 2000 to 2005. We stopped in Colmar after visiting the Materne Haegelin wine cellar. We were looking for a place to enjoy Alsatian cuisine. The restaurant, Le Chasseur, caught our eye, and we were right to choose it. Slightly off the beaten path, we were transported back to our younger days with an excellent pork knuckle and sauerkraut (perhaps the best I've had since December 2003, watching the storks perched in Munster) for me, and a dish of ham and seasonal asparagus for my wife. We enjoyed a Grand Cru Riesling and finished with some excellent ice cream. A lovely place, excellent service, and everyone seemed to leave satisfied and happy. Thank you to the team.
