A great find! The service was quick and efficient despite a full house. All the dishes we chose were excellent, very good value for money. In short, it's worth the trip, and a word of advice: book ahead!

It's a good restaurant, with several rooms, including one across the street. The staff is friendly, the food is very good, and the setting is modern. In short, it's great value for money and a real treat! 😋👍🏻

Busy buzzy restaurant with great menu. Be patient as they get busy and careful what you wear as the open fire does make for a smoky aroma on your clothes 🤔 lovely menu and pleasant staff. Oh and the Irish coffee is the best 👍

Talking about weird food, I bet you'll find this one weirder than horse... 😜 Kangaroo! 🦘 Of course, if you're from Australia 🇦🇺 or you've lived there, you probably ate it many times. Otherwise... 😅 That used to be quite common in France 🇫🇷 though, back when I was a kid. But kangaroo meat disappeared from the menus a long time ago, and it's become very hard to find. And I had been wanting to try it again for so many years! Until I found it in Sète, south of France, a while ago, precisely at Au Feu de Bois! 🥳 I was so happy, almost running to get to the place and finally try kangaroo meat again. 🤩 Unfortunately, my meat tasted like... shrimp 🍤. 🤢 I think they grilled it together with my wife's shrimps... She said the shrimps were good but I can't really say the same thing about the meat 🥩... 😢 I was luckier with the fries 🍟, which were very good. But then my wife was unlucky too with her sides that were cold ❄️. 😔 My son was just unlucky cause his chicken was not good. 👎 The presentation of my place was poor too. 👎 In fact this restaurant was a place of contrasts. Take the service, for instance: they took the booking but refused to serve starters because it was too late. 🙄 But then they agreed to replace my son's menu's dessert with another one he liked better. 🤔 The venue itself is divided in 2 by... the (pedestrian) street. We sat on the terrace but when I went in to go to the bathroom, the music was so loud! And the decor was so cold... 😬 We ended up paying €22 each for 1 main and 1 dessert (no drinks): not too expensive but not especially cheap either for lunch. I'll keep looking for a place to try kangaroo meat again... 🤷 Quality & taste: 4/10 Quantities: 6/10 Atmosphere: 4/10 Originality: 9/10 Ratio price / quality: 6/10 Service: 6/10 How I felt afterwards: 5/10

A very pleasant evening. We received a warm welcome. The service was professional, with helpful advice for pregnant women and those with specific dietary needs. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal. The atmosphere is welcoming.

While on holiday in Sète, we discovered this restaurant during a stroll. A wonderful find: delicious food, quality ingredients, and impeccable service. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal. I highly recommend it.

19/02/2026: What a wonderful experience! A small restaurant with few tables (be sure to book!), but authentic, refined, and perfectly executed cuisine—we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves! The menu is concise because all the ingredients are fresh: 3 starters, 3 main courses, 3 desserts—you can't go wrong, everything is delicious! Personally, I highly recommend the foie gras crème brûlée with a glass of Muscat wine, and the scallops with butternut squash purée and coconut foam. If you like fish, try the "Montgolfière" (an assortment of fish in a creamy sauce, served in a tureen with a crispy puff pastry lid)—it's divine! A warm welcome from the chef/owner and the two servers, who were lovely and attentive. Thank you!

14/12/2025: This Saturday, December 13th... there was a lot of choice, but we settled on the grilled cuttlefish. It had clearly been on a diet!! And the €7 bottle of San Pellegrino... that didn't go down well either!
