The bread is very good, but we wanted to try the Basque cream cake in individual slices and were very disappointed—it was sorely lacking in cream and very heavy!
We tried it at another bakery in the same town; it was cheaper and much better.

So, a special 5/5 to the smiling waitress who wished us a lovely day with such warmth and kindness :) As a nurse, I can tell you how much that means! Next, a special mention for my new obsession: the unicorn roll! And for those interested in culinary culture and to awaken their palates to new flavors, you absolutely must try the lemon tart, a little marvel with multiple and delicious layers of taste :) One small negative point: the price! Yes, it's really high quality, yes, the team is great, but still, €5.80 a slice of pastry is excessive, I think... Tourists won't notice, but living in Bidart...

The cakes are at the entrance, and I see the dessert I want. However, the waitress tells me that the cake I want is no longer available!?? Finally, she says I'll be served by her colleague. I repeat my request and her colleague's response. She goes to the display case and informs me that the cake I wanted is indeed available! The first waitress intervenes: "Oh, it's not arranged properly!" No apology, of course.
Finally, a 6-slice cake for 32 euros works out to more than 5 euros per slice. At that price, you're better off going to a decorated pastry shop, a Meilleur Ouvrier de France (MOF) for example; it's cheaper. And they give you a free birthday plaque. So that's why they only have 3 stars.
