Au Jardin Des Carmes sur Avignon

Magnifique endroit, avec une terrasse ombragée et fleurie. Un endroit reposant et calme. Les plats étaient excellents (tataki de thon puis suprême de poulet avec sa purée de pommes de terre avec de la truffe, et un saint pierre façon bouillabaisse). Petit bémol : manque de consistance de légumes dans le saint pierre même si le poisson était parfait. A part cela, le restaurant est propre, le serveur était agréable.

Magnificent place, with a shaded and flowery terrace. A relaxing and calm place. The dishes were excellent (tuna tataki then chicken supreme with mashed potatoes and truffles, and a bouillabaisse-style Saint Pierre). Small downside: lack of consistency of vegetables in the holy stone even if the fish was perfect. Other than that, the restaurant is clean, the waiter was pleasant.

Magnificent discovery, delicious dishes, excellent service, very friendly. Shaded and flowered terrace, Relaxing setting. Very affordable children's menu...risotto and chicken fillet. It's a change from fried nuggets or fried ham...

Fortunately the servers were smiling, fast, efficient and the gentleman at the cash register was a bit of a joker and charming because the rest is meh! I'm really sorry for this review which is rare for me but for a dish at €23!!! My cod fillet was overcooked and must have measured 5x5cm, the correct zucchini and virgin sauce resulted in 11 small cubes of tomatoes! As for my husband's duck breast, it was not sliced ​​and not great.

Server certainly overwhelmed but unpleasant, really good dishes but ridiculous quantity for the price

We enjoyed the very, very fine cuisine (and we are picky eaters) even during the festival period! Cod fillet, tuna tataki and a delicious, very fine and fresh dessert, barely sweet as I like them, not really liking sweet things and always being disappointed by desserts, but I let myself be tempted by telling myself that if the dessert was as good as the rest... it was a real treat. We were accepted at 10 p.m. which is also remarkable. The portions are not very generous however: a little side dish of vegetables would have been appreciated, there was only salad, very fresh however (salad shoots) and well seasoned. A small downside: when my friend said that it was a shame that there wasn't a wider choice of beers (than Heineken), surprise because these days there was a lot of it because there are + in addition to beer lovers, he was told rather curtly “well not here”! We're going to put this down to the festival, the non-stop crowd, and the long hours... because afterwards everyone was very pleasant. We recommend despite the small portions and the lack of vegetables, for a real pleasure for the taste buds!

One of our better meals in Avignon!! We booked a reservation for our first night in town, as we didn't want to have to worry about where to eat after our long travel day. From the outside, the restaurant is very unassuming - just a counter inside the front door. Do not let that fool you! Once inside there is a nice little dinning area, but the best part is the outdoor courtyard! Full of fig trees, grape vines and other assorted plants, it was a lovely spot for dinner! All of our food was delicious (we had the duck) and the service was lovely. I highly recommend this restaurant. We dined at 7:30pm, and after that it seemed to pick up, so maybe make a reservation, so you don't miss out.
