La Vieille Fontaine sur Avignon

The food is excellent, and the setting is superb!!!

This old hotel has retained its charm. However, it could use some restoration in certain areas (crooked stairs, faded paint in a few places, and worn carpets). It would be nice to offer the following in the rooms: a USB port, a bottle of water in the suites, chocolates in the evening when guests turn down for the night, etc. Small details, but they make all the difference. We had no hot water one evening. After mentioning the problem to reception, no one called us back. We tested the water again later, and it was working. A call to let us know it was being repaired would have been appropriate. The staff is efficient and dedicated. The hotel is very well located, and everything is within walking distance. The town is charming. I recommend this place.

This place is like walking back into the 50s. It's a very old hotel surrounding a very old tree in a very old part of a very old city. The courtyard has some beautiful wisteria growing in it as well and it's wonderful. The HVAC is old. It's a whole building modal system, so it's in one mode in the summer and another in winter. So if you get a hot day or two at the wrong time, they won't swap the building over for you. Has a parking garage across the square that is very secure and location is perfect for exploring this great city.

Very nice place, very warm welcome and perfect lunch, plus an unbeatable price for the service and the quality of the food and products offered.

Friendly staff and a place where you can feel the old-world vibe. I stayed here without high expectations, but if I come back to Avignon, it is a hotel I would like to stay at again.

Great hotel! The rooms and bathrooms are very spacious. The bedding is very comfortable. Dinner at the bistro was a very pleasant surprise: delicious from start to finish, and excellent value for money. Breakfast was also delicious and offered a wide variety of choices.

We spent one night at the hotel and had a reservation. The hotel room was far from five-star quality, and the heating didn't work properly. The toilet was leaking… the restaurant we had booked for 8 pm was full. We had to ask twice before someone acknowledged our reservation and prepared a table. Disappointing, except for the carpooling service.
