Au Moulin Gourmand - Maître Restaurateur sur Cadenet

In the heart of Cadenet, this restaurant offers a peaceful setting on a lovely covered terrace. Drawn to this establishment by the simplicity of the menu and the glowing review from Gault&Millau, I was nonetheless disappointed by the food. It's becoming increasingly irritating to be served industrial bread when others get up every day at 4 a.m. to produce quality products. Good, fresh bread is readily available. The starter, a cold ratatouille, was acceptable, if one overlooks the botched cooking of the soft-boiled egg (it was hard-boiled at this point). For the main course, a salmon steak, I was very disappointed to find on my plate exactly the same preparations as those already present in my starter. It seems obvious that the point of a meal is discovery, not repetition… The mashed potatoes were simply awful. Too many mistakes, even with seemingly simple elements, unfortunately made this a very unpleasant meal. The large table we were seated at probably didn't help matters, but it's up to the chef in the kitchen to set boundaries… It's a shame, I really think there's so much more to offer in this beautiful place!

After spending some time walking around the lovely village of Cadenet, my wife and I decided to stop for lunch at Les L du Moulin ,honestly, we’re really glad we did. The location is perfect, right in the center of the village, and there’s free parking nearby which makes it super easy to access. The place itself feels warm and welcoming, with a relaxed and charming atmosphere that fits perfectly with the spirit of Cadenet. Now the food… even in France where you expect good food everywhere, this was something else. The chef, Cyril, really knows what he’s doing! every dish felt carefully thought out and full of flavor. It’s easily one of the best meals we’ve had in a long time. The service was also great from start to finish. As soon as we arrived, we were welcomed with a tapenade of black olives and pistachios, which was a really nice touch. The team was attentive, quick, and gave excellent advice on which wine to choose with our food, and they got it exactly right. We didn’t have to wait long at all; everything came at a good pace without feeling rushed. And in terms of value, it’s definitely worth it! the quality of the food compared to the price makes it a really great experience overall. I would absolutely recommend this place, even if you’re not staying in Cadenet, it’s worth the stop.

The cuisine is sophisticated and high-quality: we ate very well, and the dishes were beautifully presented. The owner is also very friendly and welcoming. However, the service unfortunately did not live up to our expectations. Although there were only about fifteen of us on the terrace, we waited approximately 45 minutes before being served our aperitifs. We were then informed that there had been some difficulties in the kitchen that evening, which we can understand. However, waiting over an hour and fifteen minutes for our starters is still excessive. It's a shame, because the quality of the food deserves to be showcased by smoother service. We hope this was just a one-off incident.

Absolutely delicious, incredibly friendly, the best restaurant in Cadenet. I ate everything on my plate, EVERYTHING.

A wonderful experience. We received a gift certificate for this restaurant, and it was a superb gift. The cuisine was refined and elegant, the welcome perfect, and the setting intimate. The menu, based on seasonal produce, was balanced and had something for everyone. I congratulate the Chef and thank the very attentive and discreet waitresses. I highly recommend this restaurant. Excellent menu. Very reasonable prices. Everything is homemade by the chef. The terrace is lovely, shaded by jasmine. We loved this restaurant and highly recommend it; the food is excellent.
