This place styles itself as a wine and cheese bar but also offers a good range of regional dishes for those wanting something more substantial to eat. The standard of cooking from the young kitchen team cannot be faulted.
Furnishings are simple and the lady who superintends the bar does the serving. My Poulet du Nord (chicken and mushrooms in a cheese sauce) was superb - plenty of really tastey meat and mushrooms cooked to perfection, ideally matched by the local Maroilles cheese. The sweet potato frites which came with it were an inspiration. My husband's escalop was also perfectly cooked, but he was somewhat overwhelmed by the generous helping of noodles which came with it.
There is a long and interesting wine list, with soemthing to suit every pocket.
