Au Petit Gourmand sur Rennes

The little bar has been our HQ for the past three years. We go there every day and, in doing so, contribute significantly to their business (we come with our group of friends and order drinks several times a day). Unfortunately, last week was the last straw for us. One of the waitresses (wearing glasses and with blonde hair, older than the other waiters/waiters) treated us like dirt, asked us to leave a table where there were three of us, and had invited a friend who sometimes begs and who had PAID for his coffee! She said, word for word, "If it's just to hang out with a coffee and a dog, it's not worth it." Aren't you ashamed to speak like that?! What's more, she took it upon herself to move our things and yelled at us even though we had just ordered. We've never gulped down a coffee so quickly, only to leave immediately! It's a shame because the other waitresses and waiters are great, especially Yoran who is always smiling and pleasant. I'm astonished, even dismayed, to see that this is how customers AND people in precarious situations are treated in Rennes…

A student vibe instead of stuffy restaurants. There's always something going on here. Read a book with a cider or catch up on the latest gossip over a coffee. The atmosphere changes with the time of day. Outside with a view over the square.

A really nice bar, not too expensive, and friendly, just the way we like them. They serve great food, even if it's sometimes hard to get a table since it's such a classic, lol. The atmosphere is always great, but be warned if you have asthma or are against smoking.

Great atmosphere! The menu isn't huge, but it has everything you need! Everyone I've met so far has been fantastic: kind, helpful, and welcoming. The terrace is large (and often very popular), a must-visit!
