We had a spot on the small balcony and enjoyed the best mussels of our lives.

Authentic. The owner is a producer of PDO mussels and oysters. Simple, very good, affordable.

Ate for lunch today. The oysters and mussels were perfect. The young man serving on the first floor was also excellent. In short, we will gladly return. Thank you again.

We had lunch here on a Saturday in mid-September and ordered platters of shellfish, crustaceans, and seafood. Everything was delicious and very fresh (I'd hope, given the location). Small tables and a view of the bay. Service was a bit gruff and hasty, courtesy of a slightly older woman. Overall, we got what we were looking for, but you can probably find better in Cancale. We've had larger portions in Normandy, at Saint-Vaast-la-Hogue and Barfleur, at a comparable price. Although in Normandy, they had bigorneaux, not bulots.

My partner and I came for lunch today. The restaurant is very friendly and the staff are very welcoming. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal; I've rarely seen mussels so big, haha! They bring pieces of bread with butter, which is a nice little touch. We had a wonderful time, and on top of that, they're the cheapest mussels in Cancale! Hello, Passing through Cancale in September, we loved the town, the restaurant's location, and the mussels were quite good. It's a shame the fries weren't homemade. It was nice. That said, I want to point out that we were not at all impressed with the welcome and the initial service from one of the waiters. I can understand that after a tourist season, the tolerance threshold for disrespectful or difficult customers is low; I also work in retail. However, we had barely arrived, without even having had time to ask if they were still serving at 1:30 pm or if they allowed dogs, when the waiter gestured for us to sit down without even a greeting, with a blasé expression. We asked him if it was possible to open the parasol, and my partner offered to do it because he saw we were bothering him. The waiter came to do it, grumbling. We waited a while for our aperitif order to be taken, with the feeling that we were in the way. Then a couple arrived, and we heard this waiter say, "Seriously?" We almost left twice. Luckily, two other very friendly waiters took over and saved our lunch. The start was incredibly awkward. I've never experienced anything like it. When you work in retail, you should at least be polite and respectful, especially when the customers are. We're all human; inappropriate behavior can happen with difficult customers. But this made you wonder why he was in this line of work. We did at least get a goodbye, though. Phew! 😅 We wish him better days, hoping this isn't his everyday reality.

Mussels marinière are a pure delight, I highly recommend them, but it's best to reserve in advance....
