Au Riche-Lieu sur Cannes

A perfect welcome, homemade food worthy of the great starred chefs. I HIGHLY recommend this establishment. Bravo to their professionalism and kindness.

2017-06-20 -I wanted something simple and tasty for lunch and was more or less thrown into this restaurant (Au Riche-Lieu) in the narrow alley. The staff were quick in their turnarounds and arranged a table for me at the small outdoor restaurant. -Ordered a fish soup which seemed to be served in a reasonable amount (5-6 dl). And with some accessories like toasted bread, grated cheese and aioli. Ate the fish soup in several places, but here at Au Riche-Lieu, they were the ones who succeeded best in toasting the bread so that it was crispy and tasty. The other restaurants burned too much so that the bread became harder than Swedish crusts. -So that puts the restaurant at the top of my list of places to eat in Cannes.

I highly recommend this place. Delicious food. I ordered mussels and fries and I didn't expect such a large portion! Excellent white wine. The owner was very nice and I felt as comfortable as if I had been invited to someone's home. The menu is varied, there is something for everyone.

We had grilled sardines, bouillabaisse and grilled shrimps. Everything was excellent, but the bouillabaisse was perfect. Rich flavours and rich with sea fruits. 😋😋😋

Con mia moglie siamo capitati per caso in questo ristorante, attratti dalla presenza nel menu delle lumache. L'esperienza è stata più che positiva, nonostante le recensioni negative di chi ci ha preceduto. La formula scelta consiste di due portate a scelta tra due gruppi per 19 euro. Io ho mangiato delle ottime lumache all'aglio ed un eccellente filetto di anatra, servito con discrete patate fritte ed un'insalata mista condita alla perfezione, mentre mia moglie ha optato per la frittura di pesce e come secondo per un filetto di pesce guarnito da ottime verdure stufate e da un risotto allo zafferano (invero un po' insipido). Il tutto accompagnato da un ottimo vino bianco della casa in un ambiente cordiale e alla mano. Unico neo (come del resto dappertutto in Francia) il prezzo dell'acqua minerale. In conclusione, cinquanta euro per mangiare ottimamente in due in una zona turistica di Cannes. Consigliatissimo.
