The owner is super nice and a good cook. I had a pork knuckle cooked in the fireplace, it was delicious! I highly recommend it and will definitely go back when I'm in the area.

Superb beef shank cooked over a wood fire, served with homemade fries and potatoes (recipe unknown but excellent). The service, however, left something to be desired, with a 45-minute wait before being served.

09/02/2026: I'm staying here for four weeks on a business trip and I feel almost "at home" thanks to the warm welcome and welcoming atmosphere. The staff is very friendly and dedicated to the well-being of their guests. They offer generous breakfasts, meal trays if you arrive late, simple but tasty cuisine, and they're happy to accommodate requests for salads (thanks, Kevin! 😁).
01/02/2026: A week's stay in Châteaubriant... I received a very warm welcome from the receptionist (Gwendoline). Breakfast was very good. It's a shame the restaurant isn't open on Saturday evenings.
