Auberge de la Golmotte sur Mont-Dore

We discovered the Auberge de la Golmotte during our holiday in Mont Dore and had a very pleasant time. We opted for the à la carte menu. The foie gras with homemade gingerbread was generous and excellent. The plates were also beautiful to look at, sprinkled with garden pea leaves – a delightful culinary discovery. The scallop dish was truly succulent with a shallot sauce and various equally delicious side dishes. Mashed potatoes, ratatouille, and candied carrots with their tops, while not groundbreaking, were also perfect in terms of both cooking and seasoning. As for dessert, the homemade pear sorbet and the praline chocolate crisp were simply divine! The ingredients are incredibly fresh and of high quality. The service is discreet yet friendly, and the serenity of this restaurant contributes to making the meal a truly delightful experience. Thank you to the chef and thank you to the waitress. We will return on our next stay in Mont Dore.

Great place that doesn't look like much but turns out to be a hidden gem.

Excellent food, excellent welcome and service.

The cuisine is well-executed, with excellent preparation. A wine bar serving wines by the glass is very pleasant for occasionally enjoying fine wines. 🍷 The atmosphere surprised me 🥶 despite the very pretty decor.

A lovely, quiet, and cozy restaurant. The dishes are homemade, refined, and beautifully presented. The mushroom puff pastry was delicious! The waitress was pleasant. Set menu (starter, main course, dessert) from €30 – good value for money.

The foie gras and homemade gingerbread were to die for, the tournedos Rossini was amazing, the crème brûlée was delicious and perfectly crisp, not to mention the warm welcome. A truly memorable time spent in this charming inn. 💝

We had a wonderful time. A real gem, just a stone's throw from Lake Guéry. The food was absolutely delicious, and the service impeccable. Remember to book in advance by phone. We had a truly incredible experience. Thank you so much! I haven't included all my photos of the dishes; you'll have to go and discover them for yourselves, but one thing is for sure: you won't be disappointed. We'll definitely be back.

A welcoming, beautifully decorated restaurant, perfect for lunch by the fireplace, excellent, generous cuisine with just the right amount of seasoning and delicious flavors. Excellent value for money.
