I chose the squid and tripe as my main dishes, and I was impressed. This is probably the best squid dish in the Basque Country. The tripe is also a special cut, of the highest quality. Highly recommended!

Absolutely perfect. We came for the wood pigeon menu and thoroughly enjoyed it; the cooking was perfect, and the side dishes had delicate flavors. The starter and dessert were also very good. The service was efficient, the owner charming, and the chefs excellent. The dining room is typical of old houses. A well-run establishment where you're happy to come and return. Thank you.

Excellent value for money This is our first time eating at this establishment. Pleasantly surprised, the welcome and the food were excellent. Parking nearby. If you're passing through, make a detour.

We celebrated our daughter's baptism at the Auberge du Fronton and everyone loved it. The traditional cuisine was excellent. The service was impeccable. We dealt with true catering professionals, and that's a real pleasure at this time. I highly recommend it; it's one of the best places in Ustaritz.

La Petite Auberge

21/02/2026: I stumbled upon this place online and have absolutely no regrets! Jean-Marie's warm welcome and his wife Solange's excellent cooking are top-notch. The menu has a limited selection, a testament to their quality, and there's also a daily specials board that can be combined with other dishes. Perhaps a minor criticism of the rum baba: it was very boozy and the cake was a bit too soft. But that's just my opinion. I recommend making a reservation; there are only about ten tables inside, and I booked online. Highly recommended!
08/02/2026: Passing through the region, we booked a table at La Petite Auberge on a whim. We weren't disappointed at all, quite the opposite! La Petite Auberge isn't just another restaurant... the atmosphere is warm and welcoming. Jean-Marie went out of his way to serve us: detailed explanations of the menu, introductions to the team, a touch of humor... As for the dishes, they were all excellent. The cuisine is refined and authentic. A wonderful memory of this restaurant, which I highly recommend, and where we will gladly return if the opportunity arises. Thank you, Jean-Marie and Solange.
