What a setting! The panoramic terrace overlooking the Plats dam is simply magnificent, especially at sunset. Absolute tranquility, a complete change of scenery just 10 minutes from Saint-Étienne. 100% homemade cuisine, fresh produce, a menu that changes with the seasons, and top-notch cheese specialties (tartiflette, ravioli gratin, chicken fillet with chanterelles). Generous portions and excellent desserts.

We came to lunch at the Auberge du Sapt on a Friday and, unfortunately, our experience was rather mixed. The positives: the lakeside location is truly magnificent. The terrace is very pleasant and offers a superb setting, and the interior is also very nice, with a lovely ambiance and a warm atmosphere that must be just as pleasant in summer as in winter. We were also very warmly welcomed and the service was impeccable from beginning to end. No complaints there. However, the major drawback is the value for money. We paid around €30 per person for the set lunch menu, which isn't necessarily excessive in itself, but we found the quality of the dishes really lacking. The dishes were quite simple and, above all, we found them very bland, clearly lacking in flavor. Several of us at the table shared the same opinion: it was truly disappointing, especially considering the price we paid. It's a shame, because with such a magnificent setting, such a warm welcome, and impeccable service, we expected much better on the plate. I hope this aspect can be improved, as the potential is clearly there.
