Stars without limits!
Starting with the welcome: a smiling and friendly person, much to our surprise. It was a gift certificate from our children, not a gift box, which is often difficult to book. Here, there were no restrictions; my request was accepted (even though the restaurant was full). The dining room was chic but not stuffy. The sommelier was excellent, and the service was efficient and friendly. A young woman who never lost her smile was a real plus for the waitress. Both the young man and woman were very competent and helpful. 😊 The descriptions were clear and detailed—the service was simply PERFECT.
Now, let's talk about the gourmet meal, because that's the whole point: a parade of flavors, from the appetizers to the amuse-bouches, including the John Dory fillet, which my husband is still talking about today. It's a shame I can't describe each dish in detail, as there was a lot of thought put into every flavor, all presented with exceptional care. Thank you to the chef for these discoveries; no unnecessary frills, just an explosion of flavors. I regret not taking any photos.

Am I allowed to say that dinner at this restaurant provided us with a better experience than at some two- or even three-Michelin-starred establishments? At those, you sometimes sense a desire to impress, and the satisfaction of the diner becomes secondary. The menu prices are excessive, which helps offset the cost of employing 27 people in the kitchen. At La Pomme d'Api, you'll find yourself immersed in the tradition of French gastronomy, which knows how to incorporate modern touches. The €79 menu is perfect, and I give a special mention to the dessert.

Having visited La Pomme d'Api in the summer of 2023, we were drawn back to Saint-Pol-sur-Mer in April 2026. A visit to La Pomme d'Api was at the top of our list.
The menus varied considerably due to the different seasons. The constants were perfect preparation and "Brittany on a plate." The kitchen offers superbly balanced dishes made from seasonal and locally sourced ingredients.
High-quality wine pairings, presented by impeccable, friendly, and relaxed service. The dining room is spacious and bright with a tranquil atmosphere.
An absolute haven of well-being; we are already looking forward to our next visit.

A wonderful discovery!
La Pomme d’Api offers delicious, generous, and authentic traditional cuisine. The dishes are prepared with care, and the quality of the ingredients is evident in every bite. The welcome is warm, the service attentive, and the friendly atmosphere makes you want to return. I had an excellent time at this restaurant, which I highly recommend!

Fantastic!
We were at Pomme d'Api on April 29th, and it was fantastic! It was a Wednesday evening, and the restaurant was fully booked, but we had made a reservation well in advance! The tasting menu we chose (6 courses) consisted mainly of fish and seafood, which we really enjoyed – why do I go to Brittany? Exactly! ;-)
The service was very attentive (we initially tried speaking French, but they quickly realized that wasn't our strong suit), and the dishes were then presented to us in English, or rather, we had a lively mix of languages (we enjoyed it – the service perhaps not so much – sorry :-)). Everyone was always friendly and courteous, a true example of genuine hospitality.
The wine pairings were very reasonably priced, and the selected wines complemented each course perfectly.
My highlight was the large langoustine with blood orange and the absolutely perfect Mâcon-Chaintré.
The blood orange had enough intensity to subtly shine through even with the wine in my mouth. It was pure bliss!

The langoustine will also remain one of my all-time favorites. It was perfect!
The other courses were equally outstanding and perfectly suited to our tastes. Even the lamb had only a very subtle and delicate lamb flavor, without being overpowering.
For dessert, we opted for the "Sablé de blé noir," which was another wonderful finale.
I don't usually like chocolate for dessert, as it's often very rich and overly sweet. However, the sablé was truly delicate and well-balanced, paired with a glass of Drambuie on ice—a truly perfect ending to a very enjoyable evening.
With the main course, we had asked if we could have the menu with the wine recommendations, which was then presented to us at the end—complete with a small dedication from the chef. Thank you so much!
I usually don't like chocolate for dessert, as it's often very rich and excessively sweet. At around €400 for two six-course meals, one wine pairing, and two aperitifs, the price was absolutely fair for the outstanding service and the evening.

This was a highlight of our trip to Brittany!
