A restaurant with a family atmosphere. A good time and quality products

A good restaurant, with welcoming staff. The service is rather fast, and the prices are reasonable: for the menu at €28, there is a choice and the portions are generous. The dishes are very well prepared. For vegetarians, there is a choice of salad buffet as a starter, and the restaurant adapts for the main course (vegetable omelette + potato gratin, vegetable casserole and vegetable flan).

Pleasant setting, friendly staff, we ate well, from starter to dessert. The frogs were very good. We had a good time. The room was full, so a little noisy, but at least lively. Not disappointed. Good restaurant

Having decided to change a little from the surroundings of Roanne, we came to Violay in this restaurant with a pleasant exterior setting... but only the exterior because the interior is not worthy of the prices charged a la carte... The meal is also not up to the prices charged, reheated frogs overcooked bordering on dry… we found a fried fish in our tray of fries (are the fries cooked in the same fryer as the frying?) Not to mention the tiramisu with speculoos with, we don’t know why, a large quantity of apricot coulis in the base. In short we are very disappointed, disappointing setting and meal and very very expensive bill… We will only go through Violay again to take the highway….

Coming from the neighboring Rhône, my cycling friends and I often go to the Auberge du Chêne for a welcome lunch break. The welcome is always top notch, the value for money of the meal is very good (with cheese and copious choice of desserts) and the starter buffet can satisfy all tastes and appetites. Even if the reception capacity is quite large (especially on sunny days with the beautiful terrace), it is nevertheless prudent to reserve because as with all good addresses there is a large crowd. Keep it up and see you soon 🙂👍

Very good delivery as well as culinary and service

On a dû tomber le mauvais jour, il y avait de grands groupes et la salle était bruyante. Les cuisses de grenouilles étaient quelconques, certes servies en bonne quantité. Bref, sympa mais sans plus.
