Auberge Le Cul de Paille is a truly unique experience in Poitiers! The dining room, decorated with signatures of celebrities who have dined here, and the magnificent wine cellar add an irresistible charm to this already exceptional place. The cuisine is sublime, with flavorful and creative dishes, and the service is attentive and warm. A real gem of a restaurant that richly deserves its 5 stars. Absolutely not to be missed!

A very well-known establishment in Poitiers, as the interior walls of the ground-floor dining room are covered in graffiti from celebrities who have dined there. The welcome is warm and friendly.
The upstairs dining room is accessible via a rather narrow wooden staircase.
The temperature is a bit chilly, as a cold draft is noticeable whenever a door opens (especially if you're seated at the top of the stairs).
Otherwise, the food is very tasty. In the evening, they offer a unique set menu: 5 starters, 1 main course, and 5 desserts. I highly recommend this excellent restaurant.

Upon entering the first door, you wonder where you've landed. But once the starter—or rather, the starters—arrive, you know you've discovered a gem. Everything is delicious. And the servers are incredibly kind.

The menu is small, a sign of freshness. The place is authentic; you feel right at home. The appetizers and the sauce on my fish dish were divine. The service is incredibly friendly and welcoming. They offered excellent wine recommendations. Two minor complaints on this second visit: the desserts were too sweet and the fish was rather dry. But that won't stop me from coming back.

We went there with two friends.
The evening lived up to all our expectations!
An original, delicious, and varied menu.
The idea of going down to the cellar to choose your own wine is really great.
And excellent service from Esther.
I highly recommend it.

Excellent evening spent at Cul de Paille.
Unfortunately, not 5 stars for the following reasons:
- For one of the two courses, we asked for the sauce on the side, and it wasn't served when the dish arrived.
- The ingredients used sometimes lacked consistency with the local produce and the claimed "authentic cuisine" aspect (e.g., octopus, tuna rillettes).
- The dish on the €37 set menu was less flavorful and refined than the one on the €31 menu.
A big plus for the desserts, which were all delicious.
