A truly wonderful discovery! Inventive, flavorful, and beautifully presented cuisine. The concept of choosing dishes and sharing appetizers and desserts is original. The dining room, with its straw stools, has a warm and inviting atmosphere. The service is very friendly and attentive, and the ambiance is truly pleasant. An excellent restaurant that I highly recommend.

My best friend and I were passing through Poitiers and booked this restaurant without knowing what to expect. We had a fantastic time; everything was incredibly delicious and generous portions, excellent value for money, and the service was very pleasant. We were seated in the upstairs dining room, which has only a few tables, so it wasn't noisy at all. I highly recommend it!

An iconic Poitiers establishment, this place retains its unique, unpretentious inn style! The cuisine is a culinary evolution that will knock your socks off! The spirit of sharing is evident in the appetizers and desserts. The dishes are beautiful and absolutely delicious. There's something for everyone, sure to please all tastes. A slight, but very slight, disappointment with the desserts: the textures are a little less varied. A wonderful rediscovery, well worth the detour, recommended by a local from Poitiers.

An unusual setting that we really enjoyed, a very kind and attentive waiter, and delicious food. In short, an excellent evening. We were upstairs and the place wasn't noisy at all; it was perfect.

We hadn't been for a few years, and the cuisine has changed, so the atmosphere of the place has too. It's less "casual" than before, even though the signature decor and music are still there, as are the wine selection from the cellar and the mismatched plates. The starters and desserts are still served in several small dishes to share, but the portions have decreased: not enough to share between two, no more terrine, one asparagus spear for two, undercooked leek, a small egg cup of pea velouté, no pastries—it's more of a tasting menu...a little disappointing in that respect. Some flavors are sophisticated and delicious: popcorn syrup, black sesame, burnt lemon oil, spiced cream, and some more daring ones, like the very acidic lemon gel, which I personally didn't enjoy. The dishes were tasty, and the service was pleasant. It is still an iconic Poitiers address even if it is becoming less affordable, less family-style and convivial as its name "au cul de paille" might have suggested.
