Auberge Les Houblonnières sur Stutzheim-Offenheim

05/09/2026: The typical Alsatian setting is very pleasant and welcoming, with numerous rooms decorated in different styles, including traditional tiled stoves (kachelofen) of all shapes and colors. The service is attentive. The tarte flambée was excellent. However, the main courses were not up to par in my opinion: a noticeable lack of salt in all three dishes, mediocre fries, and (excessive) portions of side dishes with the main course. For example, the pike-perch and leverknepfle. The duck confit was overcooked and dry. The mirabelle plum tart had too much custard. The prices are very reasonable. In short: this restaurant is very popular, seating 300 guests inside plus 180 on the terrace, and is very often full. But the main courses, in particular, do not live up to the restaurant's reputation. It's a shame, but I think it's easy to fix. The setting is splendid.
