Auberge reine de sicile sur Saumur

It had been (far too) long since I'd been back to La Reine de Sicile, and what a joy it was to rediscover this restaurant we've been frequenting for years. The quality of the food is remarkable! Each dish reveals true artistry, perfectly balanced flavors, and a perfect harmony of pairings…and their wine is pure nectar! A true delight for the palate, refined yet generous. The setting also deserves special mention: elegant, warm, and stunningly beautiful. The tables, superb pieces crafted by a local cabinetmaker, lend a soul and a sense of authenticity. The decor is meticulously designed, with taste and harmony. As for the service, it reflects the ambiance: attentive, discreet, refined, and exquisitely delicate. A truly exceptional service, the kind you rarely find. A truly pampering experience, a timeless moment where you feel privileged…and where you savor every moment as much as every bite. A valuable address, to be (re)discovered without hesitation.

Fantastic find! The owners are very friendly and welcoming, and the waitress is just as lovely. The food is absolutely amazing! We ate very well; in short, it wasn't "good" 😉😉 but if we come back to Saumur, we know where to go 😋 Don't change a thing!!!!

A wonderful restaurant with a warm atmosphere and optimal comfort. The dishes are hearty and excellent. The prices reflect the quality of the food. The service is quick, just a little more smile from the waitress, but we all have off days. I recommend it.

Mixed feelings from me...the welcome was rather cold. The starter was quite good (perfect egg), the main course was pointless (overcooked scallops, served on broken shells, with no flavor), the dessert was okay...all served too quickly...disappointed considering the price!

We discovered this establishment on December 31st and had a superb evening. We will definitely return during our next stays in Angers. Don't change a thing!

Faithful - intermittently - for 50 years, to a place which was, at the time, almost the second mess hall for the students of the Cavalry School... Evolution has not killed the soul.

A truly wonderful discovery during our stay in Saumur. This excellent restaurant was recommended to us by the staff at the Mercure Hotel, and we were so glad we did. Everything was delicious and superb, and the portions were more than generous. We had a fantastic time at this restaurant. We highly recommend it if you're visiting Saumur.
