Seaside pub atmosphere. Good welcome and service.

I have been coming here with my family for years. It is so lovely to settle down here for a moment after a long bike ride and enjoy the view and the atmosphere. We usually just walk inside to get our drinks. That is quicker, and then we can decide for ourselves where we want to sit. Sometimes we sit on the deck, you see. Because of the beautiful view. And we actually want to cycle on again quickly. This time was no different. For the third time this week, we stopped by. At the bar, my husband wanted to order a beer and a Margarita cocktail. This time, he was told that orders were being taken on the terrace and that we could go sit outside. So that is what we did. It took about five minutes for someone to come by our table. Only to then wait ten minutes for the order. The beer was delicious, the Margarita was unexpectedly on the sour side. Nicely decorated, though, but the taste was mediocre. When we wanted to pay (and did so inside because we wanted to cycle on), it turned out there was a thirty-cent surcharge per drink, due to the service on the terrace. I don't find that transparent. Either you put it clearly on the signs, or you let people choose whether they want to pick up their drink or have it delivered. We provided that feedback as well. For the first time in seventeen years, it didn't feel as nice and relaxed here. It felt like it was really all about the money now. A bit of the sparkle has gone off for me.

Order whatever you feel like here, everything is good, except for the coffee, which is unfortunately really not good; even the Irish Coffee is not recommended. The location is beautiful, right by the harbor. Lovely terrace.

Great location with a view to enjoy a drink. They have Brooklyn lager on the tap. The cider is pretty good too. The couple running the place are really nice, fun and helpful. It seems like the neighborhood spot in Carteret for getting together to get a drink.

A very welcoming place with frequent live music in the summer, and a wide selection of drinks. I deducted one star for the service because you have to order your drink at the bar since the staff are very busy due to the popularity of the place.

Just a quick note about high and low tide, otherwise very beautiful.
