18/06/2026: Really good spot by the coast on the estuary. Accommodation excellent - staff too! Did not try the restaurant because it was closed but they went out of the way to find an alternative down the road.

20/04/2026: From the moment we arrived, we were charmed: the small park at the entrance, the warm welcome, the room—everything was perfect.
The tranquility, the view of the marina, the comfortable bedding, and the breakfast (featuring local products) made for a truly delightful weekend in Barneville-Carteret.
The owners are attentive and offer excellent advice.

17/08/2026: We had a delicious meal here! Truly a chef who cooks with love. The salmon scramble and caramelized pork belly in soy sauce were absolutely finger-licking good. The service was friendly, despite the crowds. The spot by the harbor is beautiful, although we were facing a wall. But the atmosphere on the terrace was simply lovely. And, oh yes, the coffee gourmand for dessert is also highly recommended!

05/09/2026: To be clear, the 1 star is awarded for the friendly and pleasant service. The food was below par. We had ordered turbot and ray wing. These are not the most difficult fish to prepare, but that was without counting on the chef's 'creativity'. The turbot was completely dried out with a sauce that was supposed to resemble a white butter sauce, garnished with a dark substance that made the whole thing tasteless and unrecognizable.
The ray wing came with a thick, greasy cream sauce. The plates were dressed identically with a dried-out 'salad' of something unrecognizable. Clearly, the plates had been sitting there for hours, with a tasteless dollop of purée—of celeriac (?)—and a mushroom filled with some kind of cream cheese. Disgusting!
What in God's name has happened to the 'craft'? Why does a chef feel the need to reinvent the classics of French cuisine instead of following standard recipes? Turbot simply fried in farm butter? Skate wings with a butter/caper sauce with a little lemon. What is so difficult about that??
Sorry to the service team, it is not their fault that an incompetent cook, and therefore an incompetent boss, runs the place. We even left a tip for the friendly people in the dining area. Please find another restaurant so you can get a bit more credit for your work.
31/08/2026: A lovely spot near the port of Carteret, nestled along the coastal road. From appetizer to dessert, the quality is consistently excellent. The wine list offers ample options for pairings. Book in advance during peak season if you'd like a table by the windows or fireplace. Highly recommended.

04/08/2026: Superb place. Exceptional view. Very pleasant staff. A few more sandwich options and it would be 5 stars. For coffee and aperitifs, this is the place to go.
03/08/2026: Frankly, I'm from the area and was just visiting family. I was very disappointed with this establishment. It was unbearably hot. I went to the bar and casually asked for a lemonade. Admittedly, I was served a lukewarm lemonade, which wasn't pleasant at all. Anyway, I moved on. I came back an hour later with my children and nephews for ice cream. I waited a long time to finally be served. The man finally arrived, and I told him I needed several ice creams. He asked me how I would pay, without even registering my order. I replied by credit card, and he said, "I'll keep you waiting, the card machine isn't working properly." Meanwhile, I saw many customers being served at the bar. I also saw their payments going through. One of the waitresses was serving ice cream, and I asked why I wasn't being served. I was told to wait again. After 20 minutes, I told the children, "Come on, let's go!" They didn't want to serve us. I've been in the business for 27 years, and I I've never seen anything like it, the way we were approached and treated. It was a blessing in disguise, because just a few steps away was the night market, a truck selling delicious homemade ice cream at much lower prices. But in any case, they'll never see us again. There were 11 of us, and they must have been annoyed to have to serve us.

12/05/2026: The check-in was fine, however, the morning reception was deplorable. The breakfast buffet was insufficient for the price. The room was nice, the bathroom was lovely, and the parking lot closed too early. When you're unfamiliar with the place, it's understandable to go to the wrong door, but I apologized repeatedly. And that's not even mentioning the lack of bread at breakfast.

13/10/2024: Disfrutamos de una hermosa puesta de sol. El Bouillon de Thai era muy bueno, el assiete bo mol era una buena selección de las frutas de mer. Sin embargo, el pescado a la parrilla como plato principal fue decepcionante, así como los postres, con la excepción del café gourmand. Disfrutamos mucho de la vista y la puesta de sol, pero menos la comida. Cuando la inundación se acerca, debe tener zapatos para atravesar el agua para llegar al estacionamiento o ser capaz de escapar a través de las escaleras a la carretera de arriba! Sin embargo, hay solo unos pocos aparcamientos por encima del extremo norte de la playa.
10/10/2024: Un endroit magique, un accueil sympathique, un service emprunt de gentillesse et d'espièglerie, une cuisine bien faite avec des produits frais de qualité, de belles suggestions, y compris en terme de vins, poisson cuit parfaitement. Tout est réuni pour passer un excellent moment en toute simplicité.
Pas facile à trouver, mais le plaisir se mérite !

30/09/2024: Un petit bar restaurant qui en paie pas de mine mais une vraie découverte pour la cuisine qui y est proposée!
Le chef, oui un vrai chef (!) pas bricolo de passage pour la saison, sait cuire poissons et fruits de mer, les légumes qui les accompagnent sont succulents !
Le tout pour des tarifs très raisonnables et un accueil sympa sur réservation conseillée car les locaux connaissent !
15/07/2024: D'aspect modeste, au centre de Barneville, la cuisine sans prétention est bonne, l'accueil très aimable. Bref, vous ne serez pas déçu.
