Bar le Florian sur Lyon

I've had the chance to visit Le Florian cocktail bar several times, mainly to try their cocktails, and it's definitely a very pleasant spot in Old Lyon. The bar is ideally located on Place de la Baleine, a charming little square, and a major plus in the summer: the terrace is nestled under the trees, providing a truly shady spot even when it's very hot. It's exactly the kind of place where you can easily linger over a drink in a calm and pleasant atmosphere. Inside, the atmosphere is also very well done: the place is cozy and warm, with an intimate ambiance that works just as well for an aperitif as it does for winding down at the end of the evening. As for the cocktails, they're a very pleasant surprise. The recipes are original and well-crafted, but they also know how to make classic cocktails or even create their own upon request. The cocktails are made fresh to order, perfectly balanced, generous, and beautifully presented. You can tell that real care has gone into the preparation. The only slight point to keep in mind is the price: cocktails are around €14-15, which puts the establishment in a slightly higher price bracket than some other bars in the area. That said, the quality is there, the portions are generous, and the cocktails are really well made, so it's consistent with the overall experience. In short, if you're looking for a good cocktail bar in Old Lyon, this is an address I readily recommend, whether for a pre-dinner drink or a relaxing evening in a very pleasant setting.

Ducked in here to get out of the rain and stayed for over an hour. Fantastic spot with great cocktails and excellent service.

I absolutely loved my time at Le Florian. I'm not always comfortable at cocktail bars but Le Florian is just the perfect ambience for me, very relaxed, calm, cosy lighting, relatively quiet for easy conversation but still with music playing to enjoy in the background and just something very unfussy/unshowy, nothing pretentious whatsoever. Just a very welcoming place with really lovely, helpful staff who care and know their stuff, and an excellent selection of great drinks. Between us we went through most of the menu and greatly enjoyed them all. I already miss the place having had to leave to come home but I will 100% be heading back to Le Florian any time I am in Lyon again ❤️
